"Wanted to say this for a while. Finally found the courage to do so"

It’s sadly become the season of broken relationships in the Pakistani entertainment industry and we are feeling the blues.

After the Veena Malik fiasco and the news on Pakistani actress/TV host Noor Bukhari filing for divorce, it appears that our our blue-eyed hero Mikaal Zulfiqar has also headed for splitsville.

Mikaal, who recently ruled both hearts and the television screen in popular drama series Sang-e-Mar Mar, took to social media on 29th March 2017 to announce his divorce.

In his post, the actor wrote:

“Wanted to say this for a while. Finally found the courage to do so. Sad to announce. Unfortunately my marriage of 6 years has ended. After a long separation and despite efforts from both ends things could not be resolved, which has resulted in divorce.”

Mikaal Zulfiqar had been married to wife Sara Bhatti for six years. The couple has two beautiful daughters together.

Mikaal had always expressed his fondness for his wife in the media. The talented actor was even spotted singing for his wife at a morning show on local television.

The actor was quoted as saying in one of his many interviews:

“I met my wife Sara through a family friend. She is a beautiful person inside and out.”

Hence, it’s no wonder that the announcement comes as a complete surprise for fans. Ever since the post, fans have expressed their disappointment and dismay in seeing the couple part ways.

User Sanaaism commented on Instagram: “Whaaaattt i cant beleive dis u guys were so perfect togeather.”

Aqsaa Shahid added: “That’s unfortunate.. But wishing the best for both of you.”

However, it’s important to note Mikaal has handled the situation sensibly. If the social media update is anything to go by, one is glad that the actor made a sensible, small announcement without going into too many details and sensationalising it.

And so, it’s also important that the actor’s privacy is respected. Here is wishing the couple luck and better times ahead.
