Nominations Open for English Curry Awards 2013

The annual English Curry Awards are back for 2013. Nominations are still open for you to nominate your favourite restaurant or takeaway.


Nominations are still open until July 29, 2013.

The prestigious annual English Curry Awards have returned for a third time, promising a delectable soiree celebrating the best in British Asian food across England.

Starting in 2011, the English Curry Awards, has for the last two years celebrated the best of Asian cuisines up and down the country.

It is no secret that curry remains the UK’s most loved dish. And with up to 10,000 restaurants and takeaways all over Britain, an impressive 3 million mouth-watering meals are served to happy customers each week.

So with curry on everybody’s mind, nominations for your favourite curry restaurant and takeaway are still open.

curry awardsYou can enter your favourite eatery and get them the recognition they deserve. From balti lovers, to lamb karahi and butter chicken, we can feel our mouths watering already.

There are thirteen nomination categories in total:

Curry Lover of the Year: Celebrating England’s biggest Curry fiend – an individual that is a genuine fruit loop for curry!

Team of the Year: Recognising and rewarding the commitment and dedication of the restaurant’s entourage who provide a service where excellence is standard.

Chef of the Year: Honouring the Chef whose culinary delights have tantalised, titillated and bewitched the English public’s taste buds.

Take Away of the Year: Recognising and heartily commending those whose gastronomic delights grace the dining tables, the living rooms and the laps in England’s homes.

awardsLifetime Achievement Award: Commemorating a lifetime of work and dedication to the Curry Industry – an individual whose actions have furthered and developed the industry.

The Restaurant of the Year: Honouring the restaurant which serves up the finest Curry cuisine and atmosphere in England.

Curry King or Queen 2013: Hailing the dawn of an individual who has engrossed themselves in the Curry Industry and successfully emerged at the forefront of the industry.

Caterer of the Year: Recognising the dedication, enthusiasm and fervour of those who work from intimate parties to large-scale events, providing a standard of excellence that is second to none.

The Best of Manchester: This will be the most popular Restaurant or Takeaway in Manchester, with good food and great value for money.

Click to see full imageHealthy Curry Provider: Recognising those who promote a healthy living, be it a restaurant/takeaway cooking the healthy way or a brand or product used to bring the nutrients into a good curry. This category is open to all who thrive to give you good food the healthy way!

Maitre D’ of the Year: Recognising those who step up to the mark and ensure every customer is left satisfied. The Maitre D’ of the Year would be someone who makes the first impression that lasts! This individual exudes an air of competence as he or she directs front-of-house operations within the restaurant.

Best Restaurant Design: This award is for a restaurant that has spent considerable effort on the design of a restaurant to ensure customers get the full dining experience.

Best Marketing Campaign: Recognising those who promote continuously, weather it is the promo’s they run to the events they hold! This award recognises those who’s out of the box thinking adopts creative marketing strategies, giving their brand the edge over others.

Each category recognises the extraordinary talents and achievements of restaurateurs, chef and staff, who work tirelessly to produce the best of South Asian cuisine.

Operation Director of Oceanic Consulting, Yasmin Mahmood, who has organised the event explains:

The English Curry Awards 2013 has listed The Well Foundation as their charity partner. The Foundation strives to build wells and establish safe and clean water facilities in poverty-stricken countries across the globe.
