“I’m deeply thankful to BUFOLA for involving me"
Celebrated Bangladeshi actress Moushumi is returning to the spotlight and will perform at the Bangladesh Day Parade and Festival.
Organised by the Bangladesh Unity Federation of Los Angeles (BUFOLA), the two-day event will mark the 55th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.
Moushumi has remained away from acting in recent years.
Despite this, she has continued to stay active in the cultural scene during her stay in the United States.
Known for her graceful performances and warm vocal tone, she will be showcasing her singing talent at the event in Los Angeles.
The actress will also be participating in a dance performance scheduled for April 27, 2025.
Moushumi shared: “I’m deeply thankful to BUFOLA for involving me in this vibrant and meaningful celebration.
“Even from abroad, having the chance to honour my country and its people is truly heartwarming.”
She will be joined on stage by fellow artists Selim Chowdhury and Dinat Jahan Munni, both known for their contributions to Bangladeshi music.
Hosting duties will be carried out by Anisur Rahman Milon and Nova Firoze, ensuring a smooth flow of the festivities.
The Bangladesh Day Parade and Festival will take place on April 26 and 27 in Los Angeles and is expected to attract hundreds of Bangladeshi-Americans.
The highlight of the event is a three-hour parade featuring colourful floats, traditional attire, and musical performances.
The celebration is designed to reflect the unity and pride of the diaspora while honouring the country’s journey to independence.
BUFOLA, a collective of 29 Bangladeshi organisations based in the US, has been hosting the annual event since 2006.
It has grown into one of the most anticipated occasions for the community, offering a platform for artists, leaders, and families to connect and celebrate their roots.
This will not be Moushumi’s first time performing internationally.
Over the years, she has graced several stages across the US, bringing her presence and artistry to audiences far from home.
While she may be away from film and television for now, her continued engagement in cultural programmes demonstrates her enduring commitment to Bangladesh.
Her participation this year will add a special dimension to the event.
Moushumi’s fans look forward to seeing her blend song, dance, and national pride into her performance.
It is worth noting that the actress has won the Best Actress Award six times.
