"Elon Musk in the studio like this update"
Mia Khalifa has hit out at Elon Musk’s decision to cap the number of Twitter posts each user can see per day, questioning why he will not give us the “one thing we ask for”.
The former adult film star took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the controversial new feature.
Demanding “one change we all want”, Mia wrote:
“All these changes that bankrupt Twitter in one day and they won’t change the one thing we ask for: to make our likes private?!?”
She also posted a meme featuring American rapper Young Thug.
The caption read: “Elon Musk in the studio like this update should make em want to delete the app, drop it.”
On July 1, 2023, thousands of Twitter users complained that they could not see new posts as they were told they had exceeded their “rate limit” or the site “couldn’t retrieve tweets”.
This resulted in the likes of ‘RIP Twitter’ and ‘Rate Limit Exceeded’ trending on the platform.
Elon Musk then took to his own profile to announce accounts with different settings would have different caps on the number of posts they could see per day in response to “extreme levels of data scraping”.
The billionaire posted: “Verified accounts are limited to reading 6,000 posts/day; Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day; New unverified accounts to 300/day.”
He later announced plans to adjust the restrictions to 8,000 posts a day for verified accounts, 800 for unverified accounts and 400 for new unverified accounts.
Elon Musk then changed his mind to 10,000, 1,000 and 500 posts per day respectively.
The Tesla boss, who took over Twitter in October 2022, also retweeted a post telling users to “go outside” in response to backlash over the new limits.
A parody account said: “The reason I set a ‘View Limit’ is because we are all Twitter addicts and need to go outside.
“I’m doing a good deed for the world here. Also, that’s another view you just used.”
On social media, Mia Khalifa is not afraid to call out people.
In February 2023, she called out a Polish rapper for “disrespecting” her on Instagram.
While at Milan Fashion Week, Mia posed with Polish rapper Zabson.
In his caption, he referenced one of his songs and wrote:
“You can be my sidehoe.”
This angered Mia and she commented:
“You gonna also tell them how your desperate ass clout chased me out the show to ask for a second photo with better lighting just to put a disrespectful caption?
“Moves almost as lame as your music, but god bless.”
