Since the emergence of Mahira and Ranbir’s viral images, speculation continues to grow around the alleged pair. Interestingly though, focus has now turned towards Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane after she uploaded a series of unusual posts on 22nd September 2017.
On the same day of the Mahira/Ranbir photos scandal, Mawra shared images of herself looking visibly upset. Downcast and looking away from the camera, she captioned them with cryptic messages. One of which read:
“Uski woh janay usay pas e Wafa tha k na tha.. Tum faraz apni taraf se toh nibhatay jatay… (He may know if he was loyal or not, you should still continue with your duty).”
The Pakistani actress also shared an image of a cryptic quote on her Instagram. Created by R. M. Drake, the quote read:
“Some goodbyes start something in you, the kind of thing you are not meant to explain, the kind of thing you just have to solve on your own.”

With these seemingly uncharacteristic photos and mysterious captions, Mawra has left fans confused. It has even led many to speculate whether she became upset after seeing photos of Mahira and Ranbir together.
In fact, Pinkvilla openly questioned Mawra’s look of “dejection” and believed it to be because of her crush on Ranbir. However, Mawra has since slammed the allegations.

Indeed, the late Pakistani singer Noor Jehan would have celebrated her birthday on 21st September. So one could argue that Mawra Hocane’s mournful tweet was simply a coincidence. However, we cannot deny that Mawra also happens to be a self-proclaimed superfan of Ranbir Kapoor.
Over the years, the young actress has openly spoken of her devotion to the Bollywood actor. Even going as far as to say on Facebook: “If I have to live in India forever and be Ranbir’s maid, I’ll do that.”
The actress even received a response from Ranbir himself. In a special video message, which she shared on Instagram in 2015, Ranbir told her sweetly: “You’re extremely beautiful, you’re extremely talented and I hope to see you soon.”
Mawra Hocane even had to deny she was dating the star back in 2016.
Considering all of this, it is no surprise that so many assumed that the actress was upset over Mahira and Ranbir’s images. In addition, the fact that Ranbir is pictured with a fellow Pakistani actress may also add another layer to it.
Speaking of Ranbir, he has now made an official statement on the viral images. Regarding all the trolling Mahira has received, the Bollywood actor said:
“I’ve gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about.”
“What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman. I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and love.”
He also mocked the criticism made about the two smoking, adding: “PS: Both smoking and hate are injurious to your health.” Whether this will help in subsiding the negativity aimed towards Mahira, time can only tell.
Wave of Support for Mahira Khan
Many other stars have commented on the viral images. Showing too their support of the actress, stars from Bollywood have slammed trolls for their criticisms. For example, Varun Dhawan told reporters: “Shame on them for shaming her.”
Osman Khalid Butt also hit back at trolls through a comical image on Twitter. Recreating the photo and copying the stars’ poses, Osman described the harsh comments as “double standards”:

Even Mawra Hocane tweeted her support for Mahira, saying: “Strength your way!” With this message, it shows the world that, regardless of what caused her sad posts, she respects and cares for her fellow Lux girl.
However, some will still wonder about the reason for the actress’ unusual tweets. Was she really upset over Mahira and Ranbir’s images? With her devotion for Ranbir also weighing in, it seems this has sparked greater speculation, despite Mawra denying it.
Regardless, we’re sure many of Mawra Hocane’s fans will hope to see the starlet looking happy once more.
