Matthew Perry, famous for playing Chandler Bing in the hit TV sitcom Friends passed away at the age of 54.
The actor’s body was found at his Los Angeles home. It is believed he died in a drowning incident.
Friends tells the story of six friends living in New York. It aired from 1994 to 2004.
Warner Bros. TV, the studio that produced Friends, said:
“We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry.
“Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family.
“The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many.
“This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans.”
Several Bollywood actors took to X to share their condolences and pay their tributes.
Posting a photo of Matthew as Chandler, Kajol said:
“Thank you for all the love and laughter, Matthew Perry. You’ll forever reside in our happy memories.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan added a photo of Matthew Perry to her Instagram story and wrote:
“Chandler FOREVER.”
Sophie Choudry also paid tribute to the star on Instagram. She wrote:
“As if the news we wake up to everyday right now isn’t bad enough…now this.
“Been reading his autobiography and this is just heartbreaking. Thank you for all the laughs and your incredible talent.
“May you finally rest in peace though this world has lost a gem.”
Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote on X:

Ronit Roy paid his respects to Matthew Perry too. He shared:
“#MatthewPerry passes by drowning at his LA home.
“Sir, you have entertained generations including my children, and I thank you for that. RIP.”
Along with Matthew Perry, Friends also featured Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courtney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller).
In 2016, Matthew Perry revealed that he could not remember the first three seasons of Friends due to drink and drugs.
In 2022, he said: “I didn’t watch the show, and haven’t watched the show, because I could go, ‘Drinking, opiates, drinking, cocaine’.
“I could tell season by season, by how I looked. That’s why I don’t wanna watch it because that’s what I see.
“I think I’m going to start to watch it because it’s been an incredible thing to watch it touch the hearts of different generations.”
