Sanam Harrinanan has opened up on the grim reality of living in Love Island‘s luxury villa.

Sanam, who won the winter series with Kai Fagan, appeared on the Cocktails and Takeaways podcast with host Madame Joyce, divulging all the secrets of the villa.

As the summer series continues, the 24-year-old revealed as many as a dozen people have to share just two toilets.

She confessed that the situation became so unpleasant that she even contemplated leaving the show.

Sanam revealed: “Living with like 12, 14 other people was horrid because, like I said, there’s only two toilets and one shower in that whole villa you see up in there.

“The only thing that made me think ‘I wanna go home’ is whenever I’d go to the toilet, I see that the [seat]’s lifted up and just pee all over the floor and seat.”

Sanam also revealed that she would disinfect the toilet seat after all the Islanders’ “sweaty bums” had been on it and even revealed she found “skid marks” in the toilet.

When it came to showering, the situation wasn’t much better.

Sanam explained: “When I have a razor, I use my razor and I put it away in my little basket thing.

“In the shower, there’s about 12 different razors and some of those razors just had hair on them and I used to hate going into that shower because I would think, ‘Who’s shaving and not tapping it or washing it?’”

On the podcast, Sanam also hit back at those pressuring her to change her looks in order to keep up with trends.

She said: “At the very start when I came out, I did find it quite a bit of pressure as people would be like, ‘Why are you wearing that? Maybe you should try wearing this, maybe you should try wearing that’.

“Then it got to that point where I’m not really a fashion person. I was never really that majorly into fashion.

“I wear what I feel comfortable in.

“I don’t give a damn what’s trending. Even if it’s like £300 to buy, I’m not wasting my money on s*** like that.”

She emphasised that she wants to remain true to herself and tries to ignore comments from others about how to “stay relevant” by following mainstream fashion trends.

Sanam continued:

“I’m going to continue to wear what I feel comfortable wearing and what I think looks good on me.”

“I literally do not care about the comments.

“Every day my management is like, ‘Maybe you should change your hair?’ I’m like, ‘No, I’m not changing my hairstyle. I like the way my hair looks’.

“I don’t feel like I have to conform to all these trends and looks and that to stay relevant at the end of the day, I’m going to stay true to who I am.

“I don’t need to change who I am to be who I am on the outside.”
