KATSEYE’s Lara Raj has addressed growing speculation surrounding the group following Manon Bannerman’s hiatus, hitting out at the “harmful false narratives”.
It has been three months since Manon announced she would temporarily step away from the group.
Since then, online rumours and fan speculation have continued to circulate around the future of KATSEYE and the relationship between its members.
Speaking during a Weverse livestream with fans, Lara directly responded to the online discussion for the first time.
She said: “I did want to talk to you guys, though, because, I mean… there’s obviously been so much chatter and so many things getting twisted.
“Things all six of us have done, or things we haven’t done, that apparently gets twisted into something we did do…[there are] so many false narratives and, like, very harmful false narratives.”
Lara also refuted claims that there are tensions within the girlband.
Suggesting the speculation had little impact on her, she added:
“When I see that stuff, it’s like, whatever, because it’s quite frankly so dumb.
“It’s like, who cares? Like, it’s not even worth the time to think about, address, clear up… it’s just not true, so it’s just dumb.”
Fans quickly reacted to Lara repeatedly referring to KATSEYE as a six-member group, with one commenting:
“Never have I been happier to hear ‘six’ in my life omg.”
Another said: “Say it louder for those in the back, all f**king six members.”
A third praised Lara for speaking out while also criticising Manon for her silence:
“The way Lara did this so people will stop spreading false narratives to the 6 girls but Manon couldn’t even say anything this simple.”

Lara Raj’s comments arrive weeks after KATSEYE’s Coachella debut without Manon.
The group also addressed her hiatus during an interview with Zane Lowe on April 9.
KATSEYE said: “Manon has been on hiatus, and we love her so much!
“We know she’s doing well, and she got to talk to the fans about it.”
“We’re just really excited and rooting for all of us and each other.”
KATSEYE recently announced its upcoming WILDWORLD Tour. However, it remains unclear whether Manon will join the group on the road.
Although Manon’s hiatus was announced as temporary, fans wonder if it could become permanent.
