The Glamour cover shoot predates her hiatus.
Global girl group KATSEYE has sparked online debate after appearing on the 2026 cover of Glamour México y Latinoamérica with only five members.
The photoshoot features Lara Raj alongside Daniela Avanzini, Manon Bannerman, Sophia Laforteza and Yoonchae Jeung.
However, fellow member Megan Skiendiel is absent from the cover, prompting discussion among fans across social media.
The group promoted the feature through its official Instagram page, quickly drawing reactions from its global fanbase.
Many followers congratulated the members on the milestone, while others questioned why the shoot went ahead without the full lineup.
According to Glamour and the group’s team, Megan was unable to attend the photoshoot because she was ill at the time.
As a result, she does not appear in the cover image or the accompanying editorial photographs.
The shoot itself took place before Manon Bannerman announced a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and well-being.
Her presence on the cover, therefore, predates the announcement of her break from group promotions.
Despite the explanation, some fans criticised the decision to proceed with the shoot without rescheduling.
Several posts on X, formerly Twitter, argued the situation reflects a recurring issue with the group’s official content.
Some users wrote that there always seems to be a member missing when major promotional material is released.
Others questioned the management approach of the labels behind the group, including HYBE and Geffen Records.
Critics suggested that allowing a major magazine cover to proceed without a full lineup could affect how the group is perceived publicly.
The debate also overlapped with earlier discussions about Manon Bannerman’s treatment within the group.
Some fans have previously raised concerns about how she is managed as the only Black member of KATSEYE.
However, the Glamour cover shoot predates her hiatus, and the absent member in this case was Megan Skiendiel.
The discussion highlights the intense scrutiny that surrounds KATSEYE’s growing global presence.
Among the members drawing particular attention is Lara Raj, a Tamil Indian origin American singer and one of the group’s main vocalists.
Lara has been widely praised for her powerful vocals and strong stage presence.
She is also credited with helping shape the group’s identity, including suggesting the stylised name KATSEYE instead of the original “Catseye”.
Beyond music, Lara has gained recognition for openly celebrating her South Asian heritage in global pop culture.
Her styling often features cultural symbols such as bindis and jewellery that reference Indian aesthetics.
She has also spoken publicly about being queer, making her one of the few openly queer performers in the K-pop-linked idol industry.
In interviews, Lara has expressed interest in writing and producing music for both KATSEYE and her own future projects.
She has also shared ambitions to explore acting in Bollywood and eventually launch fashion and jewellery designs inspired by her cultural roots.
KATSEYE’s fanbase, known as EYEKONs, continues to grow as the group expands its global reach.
The group has built momentum through releases such as the EP Soft Is Strong and the experimental project Beautiful Chaos.
Tracks like ‘Touch’ and ‘Gnarly‘ have helped solidify their presence in the international pop landscape.
As the Glamour cover circulates online, the conversation around representation, management and visibility within the group continues among fans.
