While on The Big Bang Theory, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg formed an iconic on-screen duo, as well as off-screen.
In the famous sitcom, Kunal and Simon played the best friends, Raj Koothrappali and Howard Wolowitz, respectively.
Six years after the show ended, it seems that the pair are just as close as ever.
Kunal Nayyar recently welcomed Simon to Instagram, as the latter made his debut on the social media platform.
Posting a cheeky picture of the duo, Kunal was seen by Simon’s side.
Meanwhile, Simon was shown to be asleep.
In the caption, Kunal wrote: “My brother from another mother is finally on Instagram.
“I thought it was fake – it’s not!
“Follow the king of comedy – @iamsimonhelberg.
“Show him some love.”
In response, Simon commented: “To the first man I ever let photograph me while sleeping…”
Melissa Rauch, who played Howard’s wife in The Big Bang Theory, Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz, wrote:
“Love this and love you both so much.”
Meanwhile, a lot of other comments and reactions to Kunal Nayyar’s post showed GIFS and animations related to The Big Bang Theory.
The Big Bang Theory debuted in 2007 with Kunal and Simon among the original cast members.
Along with Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), Howard and Raj formed an intelligent yet socially inept group of scientists.
Their lives change when they enter into relationships with the likes of Penny Hofstadter (Kaley Cuoco), Bernadette, and Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik).
However, Raj often remains without a relationship, which leads to some of the show’s most comedic and emotional moments.
The characters remained in the sitcom until its conclusion.
The series ended in 2019 with its finale episode seeing Sheldon and Amy win a Nobel Prize for their discovery of super asymmetry.
Howard and Raj’s friendship led to iconic moments which often saw their friends and families question their closeness, perceiving it to be romantic.
This was enacted and translated beautifully onscreen by Kunal and Simon.
As Raj Koothrappali, Kunal also became famous for portraying one of the show’s most memorable Indian characters.
Meanwhile, Kunal Nayyar will soon be seen in Gurinder Chadha’s musical drama, A Christmas Carol.
The film also stars Charithra Chandran, Hugh Bonneville, and Eva Longoria.
Simon Helberg was recently seen in an episode of Night Court (2025) as Spencer.
