"I didn’t want to be a part of it"

Krushna Abhishek has decided that he will not appear in an upcoming episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, which will feature his uncle Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja.

Over the past few years, Krushna and Govinda’s relationship has been strained.

Krushna revealed that he has been working on the show while juggling an upcoming film.

While he has been adjusting his dates to accommodate both projects, he decided not to change his schedule for this episode of The Kapil Sharma Show.

Krushna explained: “Since the past 15 days, I have been shuttling between Raipur and Mumbai to shoot for my film and Kapil’s show.

“I would always go that extra mile to adjust my dates for the show.

“However, when I learnt that they would be appearing as celebrity guests in the upcoming episode, I didn’t want to be a part of it, so I didn’t try to adjust my dates.

“I believe both parties don’t wish to share a stage.”

Krushna went on to say that he was not sure “what statement might blow up”.

He continued: “This will happen from my side and their side as well.

“Also, it’s a comedy show. You never know which statement might blow up.

“I didn’t want to create an issue.”

“I am sure that the audience waits in anticipation for my gig when Govinda ji comes on the show, but I realised that it was better not to perform.”

Although Krushna Abhishek has stated that their relationship remains strained, he does not want Kapil Sharma and the creative team’s relationship with Govinda to be tarnished.

Krushna has avoided sharing the stage with his uncle in the past, previously doing so in November 2020.

He explained his reasons behind missing that particular episode of The Kapil Sharma Show.

This prompted Govinda to issue a statement. He had said:

“I am utterly sad to talk about this in public, but it is high time that the truth came out.

“I read the report about my nephew (Krushna Abhishek) not performing on a TV show as I was invited as a guest.

“He also spoke about our relationship. His statement had many defamatory comments and was thoughtless.”

Govinda added that his name is often unnecessarily dragged into defamatory comments. He said:

“I’ve frequently been at the receiving end of Krushna and Kashmera’s defamatory comments — mostly in the media and some on their shows and stage performances.

“I don’t understand what they are gaining from all this. My relationship with Krushna was strong since the time he was a child; my family and people from the industry have witnessed it.

“I feel that washing dirty linen in public is an indication of insecurity and allows outsiders to take advantage of misunderstandings in a family.”
