"Draw some boundaries! Have a conscience!"
Kriti Sanon has criticised the media over the reporting of Sidharth Shukla’s death.
The Bigg Boss 13 winner passed away at the age of 40 after suffering a heart attack.
Following his sudden death, Indian media have been excessively covering it, especially Sidharth’s funeral.
Indian media outlets have been publishing images of the funeral, some featuring Sidharth’s rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz Gill in tears.
This has prompted several Bollywood stars to voice their disgust.
Kriti Sanon is one actress who expressed her anger towards the media for taking photos of Sidharth’s funeral.
In a lengthy Instagram Story, Kriti said:
“Breaks my heart to see our media, photographers and even online portals being so insensitive.
“Shameful! This isn’t ‘News’, nor is it ‘Entertainment!’ Draw some boundaries! Have a conscience!
“Said it before, Saying it again! STOP covering funerals!
“Stop hounding people who are dealing with personal loss by flashing your camera in their face at their most vulnerable time! And for what? A few posts?
“Online portals and channels are equally at fault.
“Take a stand, DON’T post those pictures and videos!
“Stop faking sensitivity by just writing ‘Heartbreaking’ in the captions of such inhuman insensitive posts.”
She is not the only actress to voice her opinion on the matter.
Anushka Sharma reinforced Zakir Khan’s post on celebrity deaths being turned into a ‘tamasha’, or show, by the media.
She took to Instagram and shared the actor and comedian’s post.
Zakir had shared a poem that read:
“They don’t think of you as a human being. Not because there aren’t any lines or boundaries. Your corpse is not a body without a soul, but an opportunity to click pictures.
“As many as they can click. It’s similar to how people try to steal crockery from houses burning in a riot. Because after that, what use will you be?
“At most, 10 pictures, five news pieces, three videos, two stories, one post. That’s it.”
Sidharth Shukla appeared in numerous TV shows and was the winner of reality shows Bigg Boss 13 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7.
The popular actor made his Bollywood debut in the film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania alongside Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.
His sudden death left the entertainment industry shocked.
Sidharth Shukla is survived by his mother and two sisters.
