Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 has come under intense criticism after a molten-wax task left contestants screaming in pain in the latest episode.
The elimination stunt has sparked widespread outrage among viewers who found the task unnecessary and deeply disturbing.
The task involved contestants Rubina Dilaik, Ruhaanika Dhawan, Harsh Gujral and Vishal Aditya Singh enduring molten wax poured on their hands.
Participants had to collect and hold hot wax on their hands for ten minutes in order to save themselves from elimination.
The task was part of a fear-based elimination round, though many viewers argued the stunt had nothing to do with overcoming fear.
Ruhaanika Dhawan was visibly devastated during the task, crying out in pain as the hot wax caused her significant and visible distress.
She screamed: “It’s just killing. My soul has come out, sir.”
Rubina Dilaik also expressed her suffering openly, describing the sensation as deeply unbearable and progressively worsening as the task continued.
She said: “Now, it’s stinging, and those stings are unbearable.
“The wax on the layer is penetrating even deeper. The impact is killing.”
Ruhaanika eventually left the task before its completion while Harsh Gujral pushed through the pain and emerged as the winner.
Vishal Aditya Singh also reflected on the experience after the task concluded, expressing just how physically devastating it had been.
He said: “This pain auction has left me speechless; my entire body is aching.”
Viewers watching the episode took to social media in large numbers to express their shock, discomfort and anger.
Many argued that inflicting physical pain on contestants in the name of entertainment crossed a line.
One user commented: “Giving pain to someone is not a daring thing related to overcoming fear.
“It is simply sadism for entertainment!
“Stunts should not be based on taking physical pain or injury as a compulsory part or task!”
Another wrote: “Sorry, but this isn’t entertaining at all. This is genuinely so traumatising.”
A third viewer questioned how the task ever received approval in the first place, writing:
“It’s supposed to be a stunt show, not a spectacle of human suffering.
“A ‘pain auction’ with pellet guns and hot wax on bare skin is just cruel and dehumanising.”

The molten wax controversy follows a separate incident from the previous week that had also drawn significant and vocal public backlash.
Last week, contestants were struck by rubber bullets during a Pain Auction stunt, leaving several of them visibly injured.
That incident had also provoked strong reactions, with one X user writing:
“Disgusting task!! How can they put people’s lives in danger? Anything for TRPs!”
Another said: “This is pathetic tbh. On the name of games, you can’t hurt someone so badly.”
The two back-to-back controversies have raised serious and pressing questions about the ethical boundaries of reality television in India.
