Kareena Kapoor Khan visited Birmingham on September 6 to inaugurate Malabar Gold and Diamonds’ newest store on Soho Road.
The Bollywood star, who is the brand ambassador for Malabar, joined celebrations at the grand opening.
On Facebook, Malabar Gold and Diamonds said: “We invite you to the grand inauguration of our new showroom on September 6, 2 pm at 351-359 Soho Road, Birmingham B21 9SE.
“Witness Kareena Kapoor Khan inaugurate this stunning store and experience timeless elegance across our four UK showrooms.”
Hosted by Sunrise Radio’s Shabnam Sahi and Paul Shah, the event got underway from 1 pm and Kareena’s appearance attracted people across the West Midlands.
Among them were Birmingham’s Lord Mayor Councillor Zafar Iqbal.
Soho Road was also closed for the event, causing slow-moving traffic in the surrounding area.
The stage featured performers in the lead-up to Kareena’s appearance, including comedian Tommy Sandhu, getting attendees excited and making jokes.
Kareena’s appearance was delayed, however, the crowd’s excitement did not die down as they patiently waited for her.
Meanwhile, members of the crowd were invited onstage to perform a short dance in exchange for a prize.
Kareena Kapoor’s arrival came at 3:15 pm, inaugurating the new Malabar Gold and Diamonds store.
The crowd raised their phones to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood icon.
Looking elegant in a shimmering ensemble, Kareena waved to the crowd as she made her way to the stage.

On stage, Kareena told the roaring crowd: “Thank you for all the love, Birmingham. I came here about 20 years ago filming a show.
“It’s because of your love Birmingham, thank you!”
As the crowd continued to scream, she answered questions about her own career. If she got one wrong, she would have to “bust a move”.
Kareena ended up getting one wrong and gave a short dance performance, leaving the crowd with a memorable moment.
The actress expressed her love for the city and her fans, calling Malabar Gold and Diamonds perfect for her female fans before leaving the stage.
Kareena, who is married to fellow actor Saif Ali Khan, is one of Bollywood’s biggest names. Born into the Kapoor family, she comes from generations of Indian cinema history.
The 44-year-old has starred in iconic films including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Jab We Met, 3 Idiots and the Netflix hit Jaane Jaan.
Road closures were in place along Soho Road during the event, from Rookery Road to Boulton Road.
Malabar’s Birmingham store is its latest UK opening, following showrooms on Green Street in East London, Belgrave Road in Leicester, and The Broadway in Southall.
