After months of intense speculation about an alleged fallout, actor Ram Kapoor and producer Ektaa Kapoor appear to have reconciled.
The two shared warm hugs and affectionate moments at the launch of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa recently.
Their visible interaction at the event seemed to silence speculation about strain in their professional and personal relationship.
The buzz about a fallout had begun after Ram made controversial comments about intimate scenes in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.
Many observers at the time believed his remarks indicated that his equation with Ektaa had turned significantly sour.
However, going by their latest public appearance together, the two seem to have genuinely buried the hatchet and moved on.
Ram was introduced as one of the contestants of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa at the launch.
The event was held in Mumbai and was also attended by Riteish Deshmukh and filmmaker Farah Khan.
Monika Shergill, Vice President of Content at Netflix India, was also present at the launch event.
Speaking at the event, Ram directly addressed the controversy and speculation surrounding their relationship status.
He acknowledged the conversations and speculation that had been circulating about both his personal and professional life.
“A lot of speculation has been going on the past year about what happened between Ektaa and me.”
He noted that “nobody knows for sure” what happened, keeping the specifics of their conflict deliberately vague.
Without revealing the exact reason behind their reported fallout, Ram mentioned their shared history of success:
“One thing everybody knows for sure, one fact, in 15 years every time Ektaa and we have worked together we have created magic.”
He also revealed that one of the reasons he agreed to do the show was his confidence in success.
When Ektaa later joined the hosts and contestants on stage, Ram greeted her with a warm and affectionate hug.
He also kissed her on the cheek, seemingly putting a definitive end to the rumours.
At the event, Riteish asked Ram whether he was ready to enter the Lock Upp premises.
Ektaa jokingly remarked about finally getting her chance to put him in jail for a long time.
“I have been ready for this for a long time. I’ll be the one to handcuff him.”
The rift between them had started when Ram made comments in an interview about the show’s intimate scenes.
He had suggested that Ektaa had to deal with the aftermath of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain‘s romantic sequences.
Ektaa had fired back publicly on social media in response to his remarks about the show.
She wrote: “Unprofessional actors giving interviews about my shows should shut up.
“False information and skewed stories can only last till I talk. But there is dignity in silence.”
Ektaa Kapoor’s response was sharp and seemed to address what she perceived as unprofessional behaviour from Ram.
