Kapoor Family criticised for Party after Dilip Kumar's Death f

"It is like this only in bullywood, shameless."

The Kapoor family have come under fire for hosting a party just a day after Dilip Kumar’s passing.

Iconic actor Dilip passed away at the age of 98 on July 7, 2021.

A day later, Neetu Kapoor celebrated her 63rd birthday with family members at her home.

The party included the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor.

Neetu’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni shared several pictures on her Instagram Story. This included a picture of the entire group together.

While the small celebration seemed like a nice occasion, some netizens were not happy with the party.

They were angry that the family were celebrating just a day after Dilip Kumar’s death.

Dilip Kumar was close with the Kapoor family given his bond with the late Raj Kapoor. The pair starred together in the 1949 film Andaz.

One person said: “What is their thinking?

“Dilip sir left, they mourned all this and forgot in five minutes and got ready to party.”

Another netizen commented: “Their party be like ‘Dilip Kumar passed away, aww very sad’, now would you like some whiskey or shots?”

A third person wrote: “Morning, Dilip Kumar’s condolence meeting. Dinner party at night.

“It is like this only in bullywood, shameless.”

Other netizens claimed that if Raj Kapoor was still alive, the Kapoor family would not be partying.

Despite the criticism, celebrations continued on July 10, 2021, and the family were joined by renowned designer Manish Malhotra.

Manish shared several pictures from Neetu’s post-birthday celebrations.

Pictures feature Manish with Neetu, Ranbir, Riddhima as well as some of their close friends.

Sharing the pictures on Instagram, Manish kept things simple in the caption.

Along with the pictures, Manish wrote:

“#selfie #love… Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor.”

Dilip Kumar’s death shocked the film world. He was hospitalised twice in June 2021 after experiencing breathlessness.

He was then diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion, a build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs.

‘The Tragedy King’ sadly passed away on July 7, 2021, and Bollywood celebrities paid tribute to the veteran actor.

Akshay Kumar said: “To the world many others may be heroes. To us actors, he was The Hero.

“#DilipKumar Sir has taken an entire era of Indian cinema away with him.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Om Shanti.”

Anil Kapoor tweeted: “Our world is a little less bright today because one of our brightest stars has left us for the heavens.

“Dilip Sahab was very close to my father and I had the tremendous honour of sharing screen space with him in three of my most memorable films…

“He was and always will be the finest and greatest actor of our industry for me…he has inspired generations of artists.

“Rest in peace Dilip Sahab. You remain in our minds and hearts forever.”
