"This level of preparation shows Kangana’s dedication"
Actress Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming project Thalaivi (2020) has encountered problems which have halted production.
The biopic series is set to showcase the life of the late CM (Chief Minister) Jayalalithaa. Kangana was roped in to play the role of the former politician.
Ever since the announcement of AL Vijay’s Thalaivi was made, there has been hype surrounding the web series.
In a recent report by Zoom, production for Thalaivi was condemned by Jayalaithaa’s niece, Deepa.
Deepa approached Madras High Court to stop the production of Thalavai and filed a petition against the web series.
She claimed the directors of the series did not approach her to seek consent for the project.
The report continued to mention details of the written statement which highlighted there was no consent made by the directors AL Vijay and Gautham Menon.
Deepa believes that the facts of Jayalalithaa’s life run the risk of being portrayed in a negative way.
As a result of this, Deepa wants to ensure the directors of Thalaivi can provide a guarantee for the way they present the politician’s life.
To assure this happens, she approached the court to intervene. This was done to make sure the dialogues or sequences of the web series do not taint the life of Jayalalithaa.
Amongst the legal troubles, Kangana Ranaut is in Los Angeles, California preparing for her role.
Kangana is currently trialling numerous looks for the biopic web series. She has experimented with prosthetics for her character.
To enhance her knowledge of the former politician’s life she is taking Bharatnatyam lessons. This level of preparation shows Kangana’s dedication to the project.
Numerous images of the actress have been shared on Instagram by her team showing her preparation.
In this instance, a recent post on Instagram shows Kangana wearing a red jumper with black joggers. She is fully immersed in what she is writing as she sits on a sofa.
Meanwhile, Thalaivi features former CM Karunanidhi and speculations have suggested Prakash Raj has been approached for the role.
Arvind Swami will be playing the role of M. G. Ramachandran (politician in Tamil Nadu, India).
The tension surrounding the continuation of the web series has many fans questioning its release.
Thalaivi was expected to release in 2020, yet it seems we may have to wait a while longer.
