“I told them to kill me, at least I’ll go to heaven.”
Kamran Qureshi, the father of Armaghan Qureshi, the main accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case, claimed police assaulted and threatened him.
He made the allegations outside the judicial complex at Karachi Central Jail on April 10, 2025.
Kamran claimed: “They told me to keep your mouth shut.
“They said, ‘Talk to the media and you’ll be killed’.”
Kamran was in court for a separate case. This case involves the alleged recovery of illegal arms and drugs.
Inside the courtroom, Magistrate Shehzad Khawaja expressed dissatisfaction.
The investigating officer was absent, and the charge sheet was missing.
The court issued a show-cause notice to the officer. It also adjourned the hearing until April 16, 2025.
Kamran’s lawyer, Khurram Abbas Awan, said his client was arrested on March 16, 2025.
However, official records show the arrest was made on March 20, 2025.
Mr Awan also alleged that his client had received threats from the Federal Investigation Agency.
He claimed the threats were an attempt to intimidate him.
The FIA, present in court, requested physical remand for Kamran.
The magistrate directed them to obtain a no-objection certificate before proceeding.
Outside the courtroom, Kamran repeated his earlier claims:
“I told them to kill me, at least I’ll go to heaven.”
He did not provide more details on the alleged assault. No response from the police or FIA was given at the time.
The court will resume proceedings on April 16. The missing charge sheet and absent officer remain unresolved.
This Mustafa Amir murder case continues to draw public attention. Kamran’s statements have added to the controversy surrounding the investigation.
Authorities have not provided updates regarding Kamran’s claims. He remains in custody under charges related to arms and narcotics.
The court is expected to resume proceedings next week.
It remains unclear if his claims will trigger an inquiry. But the case continues to reveal deeper cracks in the justice process.
The Mustafa Amir murder case began as a missing person’s report but soon revealed a brutal crime.
It is alleged that Armaghan killed Mustafa over a dispute involving a woman.
Armaghan lured Mustafa to his home, where he tortured him for hours.
Mustafa’s body was then set on fire, ensuring his death.
The investigation started after Mustafa’s disappearance on January 6, 2025, when a ransom demand suggested a kidnapping.
