Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi, was tragically killed on the night of August 7, 2025, in Delhi after being stabbed.
The confrontation reportedly started over a scooter parked outside his home, escalating into a violent attack.
According to Delhi Police, 19-year-old Ujjawal, who teaches music in Lajpat Nagar, parked his scooter outside Asif’s house around 10:30 pm.
When Asif asked him to move it, Ujjawal allegedly ignored the request and responded with aggression and threats.
Asif repeated the request, which enraged Ujjawal further. He then started beating Asif and called his younger brother Gautam downstairs.

Gautam, who was reportedly carrying an ice pick, stabbed him multiple times in the chest.
Asif collapsed from the injuries and was declared dead on the spot, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Hemant Tiwari.
The attackers fled immediately after the incident. A police team was quickly formed to track down the suspects.
Ujjawal and Gautam were arrested soon after. The murder weapon was also recovered from Gautam’s possession.
Police said the two brothers had a history of hostility with the victim.
About three months ago, they had attacked Asif Qureshi but were stopped by locals.
Both brothers had reportedly threatened him during that earlier incident, police confirmed.
Investigators revealed that the fatal confrontation stemmed from pent-up hostility and an aggressive response to a minor disagreement.
Ujjawal dropped out of college due to negative influences and reportedly has a pattern of this behaviour.
He has been involved in previous scuffles, including with Asif, over trivial matters.
Gautam, aged 18, is currently unemployed and occasionally takes up small jobs to make ends meet.
He also has a prior record of involvement in another case registered at the Lajpat Nagar police station.
Both brothers confessed during interrogation that they lost control during the argument and assaulted Asif.
The case has shocked the local community, with many expressing grief over how a parking dispute ended in such a tragic manner.
The Qureshi family is in mourning, and Huma Qureshi has yet to issue a public statement.
Authorities have confirmed that further legal proceedings will follow once the post-mortem report is filed.
