"He works very hard to just make a good film"
In a recent interview, Kajol shared that although her husband Ajay Devgn has done several comedic roles, he isn’t funny in real life.
The actress was asked whether she would want to work in a comedy flick alongside Ajay.
To this, Kajol said: “Gopal (Ajay’s character from Golmaal) se puchna padega (Have to ask Gopal).
“If we do work together it should have to be on something which is deserving of both of us.
“Aur agar comedy ayegi toh ek teesre se ayegi, hum dono toh kabhi ek dusre ke liye aise sochenge nahi (If we get comedy, it will be three of us and not two of us).”
She added: “I don’t think he is very funny like that. Real-life mai itne funny toh nahi hai (He is not that funny in real life).”
Her upcoming film Salaam Venky also features a cameo from superstar Aamir Khan who worked alongside Kajol in Fanaa.
Talking about her equation with Aamir, Kajol said: “My equation with him is always good and I keep meeting him.
“I really respect Aamir as an actor, and I think the great thing about him as an actor is that he has managed somehow and worked very hard.
“There is no particular thing you are looking for in an Aamir film, besides the fact that it is going to be a good film.”
She further said: “He works very hard to just make a good film and I really respect that about him, and he is absolutely fantastic in Salaam Venky.”
Kajol also spilt the beans on joining hands with Shah Rukh Khan again.
From Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Duplicate, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in the 90s to hit films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, My Name Is Khan and Dilwale, Kajol and Shah Rukh have turned out to be one of Bollywood’s most beloved onscreen couples.
After Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, the duo hasn’t collaborated on-screen and their fans are eagerly waiting for the much-awaited reunion.
Kajol said: “As of now nothing. I don’t know. Maybe we should ask him, but as of now, nothing immediately.”
Further, the actress added that she would love to work with the Chennai Express actor again.
On the work front, Kajol is currently awaiting the release of Salaam Venky.
The film directed by Revathy stars Vishal Jethwa in the lead alongside Rahul Bose, Aahana Kumra, and Rajeev Khandelwal, among others.
The film is centred around a true story of a mother, played by Kajol who does everything she can to let her son, diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, live life to the fullest.
Salaam Venky is slated to release in theatres on December 9, 2022.
Apart from Salaam Venky, Kajol will also be seen in the Hindi adaptation of Robert King and Michelle King’s The Good Wife.
It will be premiered on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar.
The political drama television series is being directed by Suparn Verma.
It also features Kubbra Sait, Sheeba Chaddha, and Aamir Ali, among others.
