Popular singer-songwriter Jonita Gandhi has teamed up with global pop sensation Ed Sheeran for the Hindi version of his latest track ‘Heaven’.

The romantic single will feature on Ed’s upcoming remix EP, which includes several exciting cross-cultural collaborations.

The Mumbai-based artist shared her excitement about the collaboration, calling it a dream come true.

“My verse on the song expresses that feeling of knowing that you’re with ‘the one’. It’s super romantic and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it,” Jonita told Hindustan Times.

The collaboration also marks a milestone for Ed, as ‘Heaven’ becomes the first song in his discography to include Hindi lyrics.

“I think this is the first song of his to feature Hindi lyrics, and I’m so honoured to be the one to do it,” Jonita revealed.

She described the track as a beautiful love song, adding that she felt grateful to bring her own personality and heart into it.

Jonita, who previously opened for Ed during his India tour, said the collaboration holds a deeply personal significance.

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Ed’s for as long as I can remember, so getting to collaborate with him on this version of ‘Heaven’ feels really special,” she shared.

Reflecting on her previous interactions with the British singer, Jonita added:

“After having the chance to meet him and even open for his concert earlier this year in India, I was blown away by how genuine and grounded he is — and how much he truly appreciates the music and culture here.”

The timing of the release has made the experience even more meaningful for Jonita.

“October is birthday month for me, and with Diwali just around the corner, I feel like this is perfect timing. ‘Heaven’ is an earworm as it is… I really hope everyone loves what I’ve added to it,” she said.

Ed Sheeran’s remix EP is an extension of his latest album Play, which aims to blend global sounds with local influences.

It also features Punjabi star Karan Aujla on ‘Symmetry’, rapper Hanumankind, and Tamil composer Santosh Narayanan with his daughter Dhee on ‘Don’t Look Down’.

With ‘Heaven’, Jonita Gandhi joins the growing list of Indian artists bringing a South Asian touch to Ed Sheeran’s global soundscape.

The collaboration perfectly bridges cultures, combining Jonita’s soulful warmth with Ed’s signature heartfelt songwriting.
