"Pralay is on track to go on floors by August 2026."
Recent rumours about superstar Ranveer Singh leaving his upcoming zombie movie Pralay have been officially dismissed as completely baseless.
An industry source confirmed that the actor is still very much part of this ambitious and highly anticipated project.
This clarification follows a viral social media post claiming that creative differences led to the popular actor quitting the film.
The initial report suggested that Singh had decided to move on to another large action entertainer after his recent successes.
However, a detailed report quickly countered these claims by quoting a reliable insider from the film production.
“Reports suggesting any uncertainty around Pralay are completely baseless.
“Ranveer and Jai have been in continuous discussions and have firmly locked the script.
“The project has already moved into pre-production, with the entire team actively gearing up to create a never-before-witnessed gigantic spectacle out of Indian cinema.
“As it stands, Pralay is on track to go on floors by August 2026.”
This massive project is a collaboration between Hansal Mehta and the production house owned by Ranveer Singh.
The budget for this epic zombie thriller is reportedly around 300 crore, making it a very expensive Indian film.
Director Jai Mehta is working alongside the talented actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, who will also play a lead role in Pralay.
Earlier rumours claimed the story was an adaptation of the famous novel Blindness, but director Hansal Mehta denied these claims.
“It’s not an adaptation. Jai and Vishal Kapoor have written the original story.
“Further, I think a book like Blindness is not easily adapted to film. I had seen the 2008 film adaptation, and it wasn’t great.”
The original story for this film was written by Jai Mehta and Vishal Kapoor specifically for the Indian cinema audience.
Fans were worried when a post on X claimed Singh was eyeing a project with Aditya Dhar after Dhurandhar 2.
The social media post alleged that the movie had hit a major roadblock due to disagreements between the lead star. It read:
“Ranveer Singh’s post-apocalyptic zombie thriller Pralay, slated to go on floors by mid 2026 under Jai Mehta, has reportedly hit a roadblock due to creative differences between the actor and director.
“Amid this, Ranveer is said to be eyeing a massive Pan India action entertainer following the blockbuster response to Dhurandhar 2.”
Thankfully, the producers have stepped in to reassure everyone that the film is progressing exactly according to the planned schedule.
The actor and director have been in constant communication to refine the script and prepare for the upcoming filming schedule.
Pralay aims to set a new standard for the horror and thriller genres within the fast-growing Indian film industry.
