Reports have suggested that Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia will star in Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2.
Nimrit is currently in Bigg Boss 16 and is gearing up for the finale week.
It is now believed that after she eventually leaves the reality show, Nimrit will make her Bollywood debut.
On the ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode, producer Ekta Kapoor will appear on the show along with filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee.
The pair worked together on Love Sex Aur Dhokha, which was released in 2010.
Dibakar directed the anthology found footage drama film while Ekta was a co-producer.
The film starred the likes of Rajkummar Rao and Nushrratt Bharuccha and kickstarted their acting careers.
It is reported that the sequel will officially be announced on Bigg Boss 16.
According to India Today, a Bigg Boss 16 contestant will be cast in a lead role and will be Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia.
A source said: “Ekta will be seen on Bigg Boss 16 today. She will be entering the show to sign Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia for her film, LSD 2.
“The actress’ Bollywood debut film will be with Kapoor.”
Speaking about the decision to announce the film on the reality show, another source said:
“Considering the voyeuristic nature of the show that’s currently the country’s guilty obsession, it fits right that the producer would see this opportunity as a great marketing move.”
Ekta previously hinted that preparations for Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 have begun.
In an Instagram post, she shared a picture with Dibakar and wrote:
“Fave franchise begins prep #lsd2.”
If the reports turn out true, it will be the second consecutive time Ekta Kapoor has signed a Bigg Boss contestant.
Ekta previously signed Tejasswi Prakash for the lead role in Naagin 6, who eventually won Bigg Boss 15.
It is reported that in addition to casting Nimrit, Ekta will also find an actor for Naagin 7 on the reality show.
A source said: “However, she did not reveal the name and asked everyone to keep some patience, and wait for the next update.”
In the past, filmmakers have signed Bigg Boss contestants for their projects.
Mahesh Bhatt appeared on Bigg Boss 5 and signed contestant Sunny Leone for Jism 2.
The following series, Sana Khan appeared in Salman Khan’s Jai Ho after the show ended. Sana went on to star in Wajah Tum Ho.
