Fresh reports have once again linked Deepika Padukone with The White Lotus, as it is rumoured that she will join the fourth series.
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, Deepika is set to feature in season four of the Emmy-winning anthology.
However, neither HBO nor the makers of the series have confirmed her involvement.
Created by Mike White, The White Lotus has built a global following for its sharp satire on wealth, privilege and strained relationships.
Each season unfolds in a different branch of the fictitious luxury resort chain, The White Lotus, introducing a new ensemble cast while occasionally reconnecting with familiar characters.
The first season was set in Hawaii. The second moved to Sicily, Italy, while the third unfolded in Thailand, continuing the show’s tradition of pairing sun-soaked backdrops with dark social commentary.
It is believed that season four will be set in France. Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez has reportedly been selected as the primary filming location.
Portions of the story are also expected to unfold along the French Riviera and in Paris.
Production is expected to begin in the spring.
Release is not expected to be until late 2026 or early 2027.
Cast members could potentially include Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka and Sandra Bernhard.
Although it is not confirmed that Deepika will be in season four, it is not the first time that her name has been linked with The White Lotus.
In 2024, it was reported that she was in talks to join season three, which included the likes of BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Jason Isaacs.
However, she reportedly opted out due to her pregnancy.
While those discussions were never officially acknowledged, they generated significant attention.
The renewed speculation arrives as season four enters early development. The White Lotus remains one of HBO’s most critically acclaimed properties, with 16 Emmy wins.
On the work front, Deepika Padukone will next be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the forthcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand.
The film is slated for release on December 24, 2026, which puts it on a theatrical clash with Hollywood heavyweights Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, which hit cinemas a week earlier on December 18.
