“This video is so cringe in every sense."
Indian YouTuber Ishan Sharma is under fire after posting a video documenting his first-class Emirates flight.
Critics have accused the 23-year-old of flaunting his wealth and behaving like a “show off.”
In the video, Ishan, who dropped out of BITS Goa, had flown back to India from Seattle after being invited to the US by Microsoft.
He documented his experience in Emirates’ luxury cabin for his followers on Instagram and YouTube.
The video features Ishan touring what he calls his “private suite 40,000 feet in the air”.
Some of the highlights included a 24-inch TV, unlimited snacks, various drinks, spacious seating, and a luggage compartment.
He described the experience as a milestone in his journey as a creator.
Ishan said: “I’m just glad I did not give up after all the negativity on Twitter. After all my hostel mates at BITS started trolling me for starting a YouTube channel.”
However, not all viewers were impressed. Many flooded the comments section with criticism.
Some called the video “cringe” while others questioned his motives.
One person wrote: “This video is so cringe in every sense.
“It screams oh wow look at me I’m flying business because I work while they sleep.”
Another asked: “But had you been content with all the achievements, wouldn’t you just be enjoying the experience instead of focusing on recording it?
“Are you after the career-related achievements or social validation/acceptance?”
A third added: “I haven’t seen any Ambanis or global elite showing or glorifying their success.
“Why most of the time either a course seller or a trader shows this?”
The backlash follows Ishan Sharma’s 2024 video where he claimed to earn more than Rs. 35 lakh a month.
In that video, he described the sum as a “small amount” that “does not allow him to go outside and do business”. The remark also sparked accusations of arrogance.
Despite the hate, the YouTuber continues to enjoy strong support from his fans.
One wrote: “Awesome, Ishan! We can feel your joy through your words. Wishing you all the best!”
Ishan Sharma had described flying first class as a “dream come true”.
He also thanked his supporters: “I’m just glad I did not give up after all the negativity on Twitter.”
