Two lovers were found dead on the night of Wednesday, March 25, 2020, having committed suicide.
The 20-year-old woman and her lover took their own lives while her parents were out. However, her sister-in-law was at the house and later discovered that they had committed suicide.
The tragic incident took place in the village of Nauhatta, Bihar.
It was reported that the sister-in-law had told the villagers about what had happened who then informed the police.
Officers believe that the lovers were in a forbidden relationship because they belonged to different castes. Thinking that their parents would not approve of the relationship, they decided to take their own lives.
They went on to say that it was planned.
On the night of the double suicide, the young woman’s parents were out. Taking advantage of the situation, she called her boyfriend Rupan Paswan over to the house.
The woman’s sister-in-law was at the house and was sleeping. However, she woke up when she heard that someone had entered the house.
The concerned woman went to her sister-in-law’s room and tried to open the door but she could not enter as the door had been locked from the inside.
She then started alerting the neighbours who quickly arrived.
Upon hearing the noises, the lovers used a scarf to hang themselves. The sister-in-law soon realised what had happened.
The police were called and they arrived at the scene. Officers broke down the door and found the two bodies.
The two deceased people were sent for a post-mortem while a case of unnatural death was registered.
While the investigation continues to confirm why they had decided to take their own lives, police suspect that it was a suicide pact.
In a similar incident, two lovers from Rajasthan jumped into a canal together after making a video.
After the bodies were spotted by a passerby, emergency services were called and they quickly arrived at the scene. The bodies were soon pulled out of the canal.
The deceased were identified as 25-year-old Vishal Kanuji Thakare and Poonam Thakor, aged 18.
Police officers questioned some locals who said that the two were lovers. They claimed that it was likely that they took their own lives due to there being numerous obstacles in their marriage.
The bodies of the two deceased have been sent for a post-mortem.
Following Poonam’s death, her mother, four sisters and brother turned up at the hospital in tears.
An investigation revealed that Vishal and Poonam loved each other very much and wanted to get married.
However, their parents did not want them to get married yet as they felt the Indian lovers were not ready.
The couple was desperate to get married and could not live without each other so they decided to commit suicide
