“We’ll stick with characters whose journeys are continuing"
Viewers will be seeing more of Sima Taparia as Indian Matchmaking has been renewed for a third season.
The Netflix show first aired in 2020 and it saw Sima work to find love matches for her clients.
Season two premiered on August 10, 2022, and it saw Nadia Jagessar in a love triangle situation and Sima saying that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are not a good match because of their age gap.
Nevertheless, a third season is on its way.
While a release date is not confirmed, fans are excited to see what the series has in store for them.
A third season was announced on March 24, 2022, and the final moments of season two featured the introduction of a new client and Sima arriving at London’s Tower Bridge.
The new season will have some new clients.
It will follow the same format and Sima will work with clients from around the world.
At the same time, some old clients will be making an appearance. Currently, it is unknown who they will be.
Season two saw the likes of Aparna Shewakramani and Nadia Jagessar return.
Creator and producer Smriti Mundhra said:
“It’ll be similar to Season Two in that the idea is to always keep expanding on the conversations that the show brings up in organic ways.
“We’ll stick with characters whose journeys are continuing for audiences, then also introduce new people that audiences can fall in love with.”
The second season consisted of eight episodes, each an hour long.
Sima is known for her controversial comments on Indian Matchmaking.
For example, she called out her clients for being too “stubborn and picky” when it came to choosing their respective life partners.
But her most eyebrow-raising comment came whilst speaking to Nadia’s family.
Nadia explained that she was interested in a man named Vishal, who was seven years younger than her.
However, Sima quickly shot it down, stating that the age gap was too much.
Nadia tried to argue her case, citing Priyanka and Nick’s 11-year gap.
This prompted Sima to admit that she is not a fan of the star couple.
Sima told Nadia: “They have married but it’s not a good match.”
The matchmaker then seemingly age-shamed Priyanka, adding:
“He looks so small and petite in front of her, and she looks elder.”
Sima’s strong opinion left everyone speechless while Nadia looked stunned.
