Imran Ashraf is proving a popular choice as the new host of the comedy talk show Mazaaq Raat.
Fans of the show initially showed disappointment when original host Vasay Chaudhry announced his departure from the show after seven years.
It was then announced that Imran would be taking over as host.
The news was met with mixed reactions at first because Imran was an actor and fans did not know what to expect from him as a host.
But since his debut show, Imran has been showered with praise for his hosting skills and fans believe it was the right decision to give him ownership of the host’s seat.
Before his first episode was due to air, Imran took to Instagram to ask for his fans’ well wishes and support.
He said: “As always, your love and prayers are needed.”
Celebrities such as Hira Mani, Yasir Hussain and Sami Khan all wished him luck and congratulated Imran for his new venture.
In his first week, Imran invited big names such as veteran actors Sohail Ahmed and Bushra Ansari.
The latest episode sees Hina Dilpazeer in the guest’s chair, who is famously known for her role as Momo in comedy sitcom Bulbulay.
Although the format of the show is that the audience asks the guests questions, during one episode, Imran was asked about his acting career to date.
He was asked by a member of the audience how his life changed since he played the role of Bhola in hit drama serial Ranjha Ranjha Kardi.
Imran stated that playing Bhola completely transformed his acting career and this was the first time he had played a challenging character.
Since his role in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, Imran gained much love and appreciation, and his career became busier than usual as he was offered a number of roles simultaneously, including film roles.
Recently, Imran took to Instagram and thanked everyone for all the support he was getting in his new role.

Since Imran Ashraf replaced Vasay Chaudhry, Mazaaq Raat has received more views and is fast becoming more popular as each episode airs.
