“I am not being arrogant, I just don’t know the newer stars.”

During a recent interview with Something Haute, Imran Abbas delved into his perspectives on the dynamic drama industry.

He also offered intriguing insights into his multifaceted life and ongoing projects.

Today, a wave of fresh talents like Dur-e-fishan Saleem and Hamza Sohail are leaving marks in the industry.

These rising stars represent the contemporary face of the entertainment realm.

However, Imran Abbas does not recognise the talent of the younger generation.

This signals a potential gap in acknowledgement between the seasoned and emerging stars.

He was asked his opinion on Pakistani dramas, to which he replied:

“I don’t know. I don’t watch any dramas, not even my own.”

Imran shared that he mostly focuses on work, reading and travelling.

He does not know new stars coming into the industry and does not even recognise them by name.

He was then asked how chooses his projects if he doesn’t recognise anyone.

The actor answered: “I have to ask the team about what work has a potential co-star done before when I am signing a project.

“I am not being arrogant, I just don’t know the newer stars.”

However, Imran’s viewers were not quite happy with his statement.

One X user commented: “He has a superiority complex.”

Another questioned: “Do you think you’re better than everyone?”

One stated: “He is trying to act nonchalant. No one’s buying it.”

Another expressed: “Just because he is an old actor does not mean that the newer ones are not better than him.

“The ones he ‘fails’ to recognise are way more successful and skilled than he could ever be.”

One asked: “I don’t even get why he is famous. Doesn’t have the looks, acting skills or any sort of talent apparently.”

Amongst these negative remarks, some supportive comments surfaced as well.

One fan wrote: “Imran seems to be very evolved as a person.

“He’s an excellent artist who knows his craft but if the project is horrible then the craft too takes the toll.”

Another said: “Got to know the real Imran. Can relate so much to him.”

Imran Abbas stands as a prominent figure in the country’s entertainment scene, showcasing his talent in both dramas and films.
