"Maybe they could update it slightly."
BBC’s The Apprentice will soon return for its newest series in 2025.
The show will see Lord Alan Sugar return to the boardroom along with his trusted aids, Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell MBE.
Ahead of the new series, Harpreet Kaur-Thakrar voiced her opinion on the show.
Harpreet won the business competition in 2022, securing a partnership with Lord Sugar in her dessert parlour business Oh So Yum.
She also won a £250,000 investment from the business mogul. However, in August 2023, she bought back her shares from Lord Sugar in what was touted as a “mutual” decision.
Speaking about the upcoming series, Harpreet suggested the use of AI in the show.
She said: “Everyone in the UK knows The Apprentice. It’s lasted through so many generations. It’s got a massive audience. So I think the show is great.
“But maybe they could update it slightly. The reason I say that is in the real world, you have tools and resources that can support you in making decisions.
“Now, on the show, you have no access to the Internet or a phone call.
“So it will be quite nice to see what people could achieve if they had maybe a few more tools available to them. Maybe even AI.
“Now that I’ve been through the process, I actually realise how tough it is.”
Harpreet has recently partnered with Microsoft and AI tools, including Copilot+, to help poor people in Britain with their creativity and organisation skills.
In 2024, Harpreet married her fellow contestant from The Apprentice, Akshay Thakrar.
She revealed that using AI tools, she and Akshay are planning to spend Christmas 2024 alone.
She said: “This year, we are doing something a bit different.
“We’re going to be spending New Year’s with family, and for Christmas, we’re actually going away just the two of us.
“Only to Sunny Manchester. I only planned this about two weeks ago, and I used AI to help me.
“I had booked somewhere else, but there were no options for a vegetarian Christmas lunch. Everywhere was booked.
“So I used the Copilot and said, ‘I want to plan a getaway in the UK that isn’t too far from home. We want to stay two nights. Give me some hotel recommendations with a spa’.
“Because you obviously need that over Christmas.”
“And then I asked, ‘Is there anywhere that is serving a vegetarian Christmas lunch?’
“And it’s done all the research for me. I’ve never spent Christmas away from home before, so I think it’ll be a fun one.”
Harpreet is not the only star from The Apprentice to hit the headlines recently.
Raj Chohan, who appeared in the 2024 series of the show, met with former EastEnders actor Jaz Singh Deol, who played Kheerat Panesar in the soap.
Underneath the photograph, Raj wrote on Instagram: “Jaz is just the super nice guy, Kheerat. Hope you get let out of prison soon.
“By the way, Stacey is with Martin, and your dad is on the loose.”
Raj was referring to current EastEnders storylines, which saw Kheerat’s ex-girlfriend, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), rekindle her spark with Martin Fowler (James Bye).
Kheerat’s father, Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), is also on the run after escaping prison.
Meanwhile, The Apprentice is expected to return in early 2025.
