Multiple filmmakers have shown their interest in making a biopic film on Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty.
Rhea is considered one of the prime suspects in the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly took his own life on 14 June 2020. His tragic death has become an international discussion.
Many fans, media as well as stars are questioning whether his death was suicide or homicide.
Sushant’s death case is being investigated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Rhea came under the police radar after Sushant’s father KK Singh filed an FIR against the actress for abetment of suicide.
This led to Rhea being accused of money laundering from Sushant’s bank accounts and eventually the narcotics angle.
WhatsApp chats were accessed which showed the discussion between Rhea and her talent manager Jaha Saha which heightened the narcotics angle.
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on 8 September 2020 for procuring drugs in relation to Sushant’s death investigation.
Several others were also arrested including her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s house help Dipesh amongst others.
This has also led to several Bollywood A-listers including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan being interrogated by the NCB.
Now, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the dramatic revelation of Sushant’s Singh Rajput’s death case involving Rhea has attracted filmmakers.
Previously, filmmakers were interested in making a biopic film based on Sushant’s life.
Now they are keen to bring Rhea’s life to the big screen.
According to the report, public sympathy for Rhea Chakraborty has grown. This has raised the interest in profiling her.
It appears her life will make for a good on-screen story which filmmakers believe will garner a lot of attention.
As well as a biopic film, the report also mentions that a documentary is being considered to show the life of the actress.
Not only that but a publishing house is also interested in signing up the actress for a tell-all book contract.
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty remains in custody in Byculla Jail after her bail plea was rejected.
However, Rhea along with her brother Showik Chakraborty have appealed for bail to the Bombay High Court.
The court has directed the NCB to respond to their bail plea by Tuesday, 29 September 2020.
