Faryal Makhdoom has revealed that she has received threats for expressing her support for Palestine.
Tensions between Israel and Palestine erupted when the militant group Hamas launched an attack on the former.
Since the violence started on October 7, 2023, over 6,000 people have been killed.
Celebrities have come forward and have shown their support for either Israel or Palestine.
One of those is Faryal Makhdoom, who is frequently sharing the plight of Palestinians on Instagram.
She previously suggested that Israeli oppression of Palestinian people had been going on “for years and years and years”.
Faryal also slammed fellow influencers for not having “enough balls” to speak out for Palestine.
However, she has revealed that her pro-Palestine posts have led to her receiving threats.
Faryal shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message from a US-based pro-Israel organisation.
The message urged Faryal to show her support for Israel or face “severe consequences”. It read:
“Let’s make this quite simple.
“If you support Israel and cease posting about Palestine, we will ensure you are rewarded lucratively.
“If you don’t or if this is publicised, there will be severe consequences. Your choice Mrs Faryal. Take care.”
On the overlaying text, Faryal said:
“I got this message last night.”
But the message did not deter her as she added:
“Like it’s going to stop me from posting the truth.”
Faryal has continued to share pro-Palestine, which includes praising other celebrities for speaking about the state such as UFC star Khamzat Chimaev, who used his post-fight speech to say he was ready to defend Palestine.
She has also continued to hit out at fellow celebrities, writing:
“A lot of celebrities are quick to call themselves humanitarians and philanthropists.
“But not a peep from you cowards.”
One user said: “Not condemning Hamas for beheading babies in front of their parents?
“Hamas are the Palestinians’ worst enemy. They could have turned Gaza into a Singapore of the Middle East. Instead, their only desire is to kill Jews at the expense of their own people.”
Faryal Makhdoom rubbished the claim, asking:
“First of all, where is your proof?”
Hitting back, Faryal continued: “You do realise that all claims of supposed beheaded babies couldn’t be substantiated and in fact, were retracted by the White House and all news outlets that reported on that matter.”
Faryal also called Hamas a resistance group, formed by the deplorable conditions of the besieged Gaza Strip.
She added: “If someone came into your home, kicked you out, killed your family and didn’t let you back in, I’m sure you’d also resist.”
