Ed Sheeran’s India tour just hit a high note, with footage showing the moment he and AR Rahman performed together.
The Brit is currently touring India and in Chennai, he gave fans an unforgettable experience when he brought Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman on stage for a surprise collaboration.
It all began when Ed started playing the familiar beats of his global hit ‘Shape of You’.
Moments later, he invited AR Rahman to join him, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
AR responded in style, blending ‘Shape of You’ with his iconic track ‘Urvasi Urvasi’.
The seamless mix of their voices and tunes was a treat for music lovers, creating a magical moment that left the audience awestruck.
The excitement in the arena was palpable.
Fans danced, sang along, and couldn’t hide their joy at witnessing this rare musical fusion.
Ed later posted a clip from the performance on Instagram with the caption: “What an honour @arrahman.”

Ed Sheeran’s current India tour is his biggest in the country.
The pop star enjoyed a sold-out show in Mumbai in March 2024, which saw a surprise appearance from Diljit Dosanjh.
The pair performed Diljit’s hit track ‘Lover’ and fans were pleased to see Ed singing in Punjabi.
For his current tour, Ed is travelling to six cities and it began on January 30, 2025, in Pune.
Before his arrival in India, he asked fans for some food and restaurant recommendations.
As the singer’s India tour continues, the buzz around his future performances is only getting louder.
He will next perform in Bengaluru on February 8.
