Shahid Kapoor swapped film sets for the cricket pitch during a visit to Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
The actor shared a series of pictures on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of his day at the historic venue.
Shahid was seen wearing a white jersey, cricket shoes, and full protective gear as he joined a friendly match on the iconic ground.
His excitement was clear in the photos, which captured him batting and fielding under the London sky.
His wife, Mira Rajput, accompanied him, cheering from the stands.
One image showed the actor smiling alongside Mira, who was dressed stylishly in white.
Sharing the highlights of his day, Shahid captioned his post: “What a day!”
Lord’s Cricket Ground also posted images of the Bollywood star on its official Instagram page, writing:
“An absolute privilege to have @shahidkapoor playing at the Home of Cricket today!”
Fans were quick to link the moment to Shahid’s 2022 sports drama, Jersey, where he portrayed a cricketer making a comeback in his late 30s.

While Shahid’s performance in Jersey was praised, the film didn’t do well at the box office and the actor previously admitted:
“It truly broke my heart. It was such a beautiful film, and I feel the universe was not favourable to us. The songs were released, and the film was delayed for four months. The universe was not kind.
“With Jersey, I learned that films are like fast food; they need to be enjoyed in the moment. If you wait, it loses its flavour.
“We had never encountered a situation like this, a pandemic, so we were unsure how to handle it.
“Sadly, the film had to bear the consequences.”
“I also believe that we didn’t do justice to the film. We could have made better decisions. I don’t know, some things are destined to unfold in a particular manner.
“Even when you have control over certain aspects, sometimes there’s no control.”
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor is currently filming his upcoming movie Arjun Ustara.
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film also stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, and Randeep Hooda, with Vikrant Massey in a special appearance. The film is slated for a December 2025 release.
