Ducky Bhai argued that betting platforms were normalised
Ducky Bhai has made his first public statement following his arrest, apologising for both his roasting videos and the promotion of a betting app.
The popular YouTuber was presented before the court for a second four-day physical remand.
Speaking to reporters, he admitted his past roasting videos were unethical and said he now regrets creating them.
He further apologised for promoting a betting app, explaining that he failed to verify its legal status before endorsement.
Ducky Bhai argued that betting platforms were normalised since advertisements frequently appeared on television and even on PSL player jerseys.
He claimed this widespread visibility made it difficult for influencers to differentiate between legal promotions and potentially banned platforms.
His lawyer supported this argument, urging the court to send him to judicial remand rather than extend FIA custody.
The defence also submitted images showing PSL jerseys displaying betting company logos, suggesting selective targeting against his client only.
According to Ducky Bhai’s lawyer, he is being unfairly victimised while others involved continue without facing consequences.
The Federal Investigation Agency, however, accused him of promoting multiple online gambling platforms, including Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365 and B9 Game.
Officials alleged that his promotional videos encouraged followers to invest money in online betting schemes tied to international gambling syndicates.
He was arrested at Lahore Airport on August 17, 2025.
An FIR was registered the same day under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and the Pakistan Penal Code.
Ducky Bhai has nearly 9 million YouTube subscribers, with his content widely followed in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Once popular for family vlogs and entertainment, his career has recently been overshadowed by growing controversies and widespread criticism.
Supporters maintain that Ducky Bhai should not be singled out when larger companies also profit through similar betting adverts.
However, critics argued that influencers with millions of followers must take greater responsibility for verifying products before promoting them.
A user said: “He was wrong but he is right that well-known platforms in our country are also promoting these apps.”
Another commented: “Just an apology is not enough. Give money back to the ones that lost because of him and then throw him in jail for at least 6 months.”
Despite criticism, many fans acknowledged Ducky Bhai’s apology, while others insisted the court’s decision would determine his professional future.
