"welcome to my audio diary, a record of my thoughts"

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone stunned fans on December 31, 2020, when she deleted all posts on her Instagram and Twitter handles.

The Chapaak actress is very popular on social media, with 52.5 million followers on Instagram and 27 million followers on Twitter.

Fans were left floundering and wondering what Deepika’s reasons may be.

The actress explained her actions to fans in her (now first) social media post on January 1, 2021.

Deepika posted an ‘audio diary’ describing it as a “record of my thoughts and feelings.”

Sharing the audio diary across her different social media platforms, Deepika wrote:

“It’s 1.1.2021! Happy New Year Everyone! What are you grateful for?”

In the audio diary, Deepika Padukone said:

“Hi everyone, welcome to my audio diary, a record of my thoughts and feelings.

“I am sure all of you will agree with me but 2020 was a year of uncertainty for everybody.

“But for me, it was also about gratitude and about being present.

“As for 2021, all I can wish for myself and for everyone around me is good health and peace of mind. Happy New Year.”

Deepika Padukone has often been on the receiving end of both love and hate on social media.

Even so, the actress has never shied away from posting online.

Be it her Instagram PDA with husband Ranveer Singh or de-stigmatising mental illness through her empowering posts.

Hence, Indian fans are looking forward to what Deepika’s plans may be with audio diaries.

The actress has not given fans any explanation as to whether they will see her previous posts again or not.

On the work front, Deepika Padukone has a full roster lined up for 2021.

The actress has signed the Hindi remake of the 2015 film The Intern, which was meant to star late actor Rishi Kapoor.

Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor died in April 2020, and the revised cast of the film has not been announced as of now.

Deepika has also signed a film opposite South Indian actor Prabhas, which will also feature Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Additionally, Deepika will also be seen in Shakun Batra’s untitled film that stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.

The film is rumoured to be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

Lastly, Deepika will be seen in Yash Raj Film’s spy thriller Pathan opposite Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

The film, releasing in 2021, is also said to feature Bollywood actors John Abraham, Gautam Rode, and Shaji Chaudhary.
