The new year is upon us, and people around the world are gathering their spirits to embrace 2021 with welcoming arms.
2020 was a tough year for everyone, but the world still kept moving, doing what needed to be done.
Among wishes for a better tomorrow, Bollywood celebrities have come to social media to wish fans a happy new year.
The first among them is Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who took to his social media handles to share a glimpse of the first sunrise of 2021.
Akshay wrote: “Here’s the first sunrise of 2021, in case you missed it.
“Praying for everyone’s success and happiness, wishing for a great year ahead! Happy New Year everyone.”

Whereas, Bollywood actress and mum-to-be Kareena Kapoor sent out the most adorable new year greeting.
The Jab We Met actress shared a picture of her son, Taimur Ali Khan with her sister-in-law Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu’s daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu.
Kareena’s caption read: “We are ready for you 2021″
Another Bollywood actress, Sonam Kapoor shared a picture of her midnight kiss with hubby Anand Ahuja and revealed:
“2021 I’m ready to take you on with the love of my life.
“This year is going to be filled with love, family, friends, work, travel, spiritual growth, and much much more.
“I’m only looking forward to having the best f**k*ng time of our life.
“We will work hard and live life to the fullest and we aren’t looking back at all…”
Bollywood’s adored couple Malaika Arora and boyfriend Arjun Kapoor shared a picture to start 2021:
Malaika shared the picture on Instagram writing: “It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new year ….. 2021”
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan greeted fans with a photo of himself in a glittery party hat and prop sunglasses.
The Agneepath actor captioned his post: “Peace, love and harmony 2021.”
Star child and Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan who is making a splash for herself in the industry posted a picture with her brother Ibrahim sitting by a bonfire.
Chiming in the new year Sara posted:
She wrote: “Happy New Years With my brother it’s always the best cheers.
“He takes away all my fears. And forever is there to wipe all my tears.”
Additionally, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra chimed in the new year sharing a picture with hubby Nick Jonas:
The Bajirao Mastani actress wrote:
“Let’s gooooo! Happy new year everyone! Can’t wait for 2021 to hopefully make everything better.”
Other notable Bollywood celebrities who wished fans in the new year include Bhumi Pandekar, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Ananya Pandey.
2020 had proved to be a difficult year for the entertainment industry in India.
However, despite the pandemic and the ensuing lockdown, the industry found a way to keep things afloat.
A number of movies made for theatres eventually ended up streaming on various OTT platforms, thereby ushering in an era of ‘exclusive movie premieres on the digital medium.’
Potential blockbusters and smaller movies, such as Coolie No 1, AK vs AK, Gulabo Sitabo among others found worthy collaborators in streaming giants like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and Disney Plus Hotstar.
Bollywood has a number of notable releases lined for the new year, and fans cannot wait to see what else they may come up with.
