"Why should I live in fear?"
A London restaurant was surrounded by dozens of people for refusing to sell Halal food, prompting a police presence.
Harman Singh Kapoor and his wife Khushi own Rangrez in Hammersmith and have stated that their restaurant is non-Halal, with the words “proudly we don’t sell Halal” on the front window.
Kapoor also actively shares posts that have divided social media users, including promoting the “non-Halal” aspect of his restaurant and alleged anti-Muslim sentiments.
This has caused controversy and it has led to him and his business being targeted.
On March 13, 2026, dozens of people gathered outside his restaurant, blocking the entrance and shouting at Kapoor.

Several videos circulating online showed the protesters outside while police officers were in and out of the restaurant to prevent things from turning violent.
One video featured the angry restaurant owner calling the mob “inbred” before shouting at an officer and asking:
“Why should I live in fear?”
As the officer repeatedly tells Kapoor to stop shouting, he also says that he is also creating tension.
Another clip, taken from one of the group members’ perspectives, showed Kapoor leaving his restaurant and declaring to the group:
“Kill me.”
The protesters laugh at him and hurl insults while officers escort him back inside.
Kapoor emphasised his “non-Halal” stance in various posts, which included, “I’m not afraid to die. I’ll stand my ground. F*** you, inbreds” and “100 inbreds gathered outside my restaurant and blocked the door entrance. Reason – I don’t sell Halal. Yes this is London, Great Britain”.

The scenes come a few weeks after Harman Singh Kapoor announced that Rangrez would be closing later in March after 16 years.
On X, he wrote: “After 16 unforgettable years, I’ve made the difficult decision to close Rangrez restaurant in Hammersmith next month.”
He claimed the closure was due to “rising costs, ongoing online harassment, repeated disturbances and attacks by Pakistanis, and a lack of proper support from the Met Police”.
He added: “Now it’s time for me to dedicate myself fully to activism without distraction.
“Radicals should keep this in mind: you can disrupt my business, but not my will.”
“I’m coming after you stronger now, with no strings attached. Thank you to every genuine customer who supported us over the years. Grateful always.”

Kapoor has also been vocal about his anti-Khalistan stance.
In March 2023, he claimed his restaurant came under a Khalistani attack after he posted videos criticising the movement and mocking Amritpal Singh.
