“my journey has been about balancing creativity with audience impact."

Varun Dhawan’s short-lived foray on LinkedIn has ended abruptly following heavy trolling.

The actor created a profile on the professional networking platform just days ago.

However, he has now deleted it after receiving criticism for his self-description and perceived motives.

Varun had launched his LinkedIn account on November 21, 2024, marking it as a “new chapter”.

In his bio, he presented himself as a “passionate actor with over a decade of experience in delivering cinematic excellence”.

Highlighting his career achievements, the bio read:

“From headlining 300-crore mega hits to exploring niche, content-driven films, my journey has been about balancing creativity with audience impact.”

Varun also referenced his roles in films like Student of the Year and Bhediya.

The actor framed his career as one of “pushing boundaries” and delivering value to stakeholders in the entertainment ecosystem.

His introductory post to the platform struck a motivational tone, where he shared his decade-long journey in Bollywood.

He emphasised the importance of hard work, teamwork, and personal growth while expressing excitement about connecting with professionals from diverse industries.

Varun promised to share insights on leadership, creativity, and behind-the-scenes moments from filmmaking.

The actor emphasised the value of continuous learning at any stage of a career.

The account quickly gained traction, amassing over 10,000 followers within its first day.

However, the reception wasn’t entirely positive.

Critics took issue with his claim of delivering “300-crore mega hits”, questioning the validity of the statement and mocking his presence on LinkedIn.

Speculation grew that the move might have been a promotional stunt, similar to tactics used by other celebrities in the past.

Social media was rife with sarcastic comments. Some users joked about LinkedIn becoming more like Instagram.

A user said: “Now we’ll all have to send him our CVs too?”

Others mocked his bio, with one user commenting:

“He’s just like the rest of us, overselling on LinkedIn.”

Despite his efforts to bring a unique perspective to the platform, the relentless trolling seemed to take a toll.

It now appears that it prompted Varun Dhawan to delete his profile entirely.

While Varun’s LinkedIn experiment ended on a sour note, his fans still have something to look forward to.

He is preparing for his next release, Baby John, co-starring Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi.

The film is set to hit theatres on December 25, 2024.

He will also reunite with Janhvi Kapoor in the upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
