For the last ten years, Daboo Ratnani has shown his exquisite flair in photography via his unique and very stunning calendars. This year is no different. The 2009 Calendar is pouring with art, sophistication and huge sex appeal.
Every photo has been created by Daboo using his star as the focal point of the shot in some manner. It includes a huge roster of famous Bollywood names including, Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Kangna Ranaut, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Zayed Khan, Bipasha Basu, Amitabh Bachan, Shilpa Shetty, Deepika Padukone, Ameesha Patel, Vidya Balan, Sushmita Sen, Shahid Kapur, Abhay Deol, Ayehsa Takia, Sanjay Dutt, Riya Sen, Abhishek Bachchan, Mallika Sherawat, Riteish Deshmukh, Ranbir Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Emraan Hashmi, Amrita Arora, Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutta and Saif Ali Khan.
Daboo is one of the most famous of modern, portrait and celebrity photographers in India. Once he came in possession of a camera, there was no turning back as he commenced his love for photography. He has got himself known for the annual calendars and has helped create a trend of collectible “girly” calendars in India, after the fashion of the Pirelli Calendar.
Daboo says on his website that he believes photography is a blend of art and business. He expresses “I am as excited about my job as I was on my first day. The fire is still there. I breathe photography. I am always looking for new things to incorporate in shots. Its in my blood stream now”.
Daboo has worked in advertising for brands like 7 Up, Airtel, BPL Mobile, Citizen Watches Coca Cola and many others with stars featured in the work. His work has been used for film advertising and publicity campaigns. Daboo’s visible efforts have been in connection with the motion picture industry.
The photography for the calendar is simply amazing and presents poses and depictions of the stars as you have never seen them before. The technique and creativity displayed in the shots certainly shows the art of a person who is very unique in his approach to this kind of photography.
