“I think it would be great to see an Indian Bond girl"
Simone Ashley has revealed her dream role – and it could see her stepping into one of cinema’s most iconic franchises.
The Bridgerton star shared some little-known facts about herself.
In an interview with Harpers Bazaar, Simone revealed she would love to enter the 007 universe when asked about her dream role.
Simone said: “I would love to be a Bond girl.
“I grew up watching all the Bond movies – that was really a part of my childhood. I always imagined myself doing something like that.”
Simone Ashley also highlighted the importance of diversity in the long-running franchise.
“I think it would be great to see an Indian Bond girl, as well.”
Bond girls have played crucial roles in the James Bond universe, appearing as lovers, companions and formidable foes.
If cast, Simone would join a prestigious list that includes Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh (Tomorrow Never Dies) and Halle Berry (Die Another Day).
Her ambitions, however, extend beyond the 007 franchise.
The 29-year-old is keen to take on more action-packed roles.
She explained: “Any action movie, like Tomb Raider, would also be a dream project.
“I’m super athletic, so I would love to channel that into my work and developing a character.”
Despite her love for action, Simone Ashley has also dreamed of starring in a musical, an area she has been a fan of since childhood.
She said: “I love to sing and I love musical movies.
“I love stage musicals like Sunday in the Park with George, Aida, Sunset Boulevard, Once on this Island.
“But as a movie, I loved The Greatest Showman. It makes me feel so happy every time I watch it.”
Simone Ashley also shared her favourite career advice: “To always focus on your craft and developing it.”
She named Kill Bill as her all-time favourite film, praising its impact on her ambitions.
“That movie inspired me to go and chase my dreams.”
“I just thought, Uma Thurman playing that kind of character – as a young girl watching that, it was really inspirational.”
With her sights set on action, musicals, and iconic roles, Ashley’s career trajectory continues to rise. Fans will be eager to see whether she makes her Bond girl dreams a reality.
