A major Bollywood film company is setting up UK studios in Luton after reaching an agreement to let a warehouse.

Pooja Entertainment UK Limited has signed a 20-year lease on The International Wine Centre unit, on Dallow Road industrial estate in Luton.

The 43,154 square-foot warehouse was acquired in 2020 by a private investor in an off-market deal.

The deal was brokered by Eamon Kennedy, executive partner at property consultants Kirkby Diamond.

The new owner then instructed the company to market the property for let.

Eamon said: “Attracting such a successful movie production company to Luton is a major coup and we are excited to see how the business develops once it has settled in its new headquarters.

“Pooja Entertainment’s studios will generate skilled and creative job opportunities in a booming sector and we are pleased to have played our part in bringing them to Bedfordshire, to an excellent warehouse in a first-class location.”

The warehouse offers two-storey office accommodation and is located adjacent to junctions 10 and 11 of the M1 motorway.

Nearby occupiers include B&Q, Tradepoint, Aldi, Hertz and Screwfix.

Kirkby Diamond is a full service firm of chartered surveyors and property consultants.

The company has offices in Milton Keynes, Luton, Bedford and Borehamwood.

It works with local and national clients to offer a total solution to their surveying and commercial agency needs.

Meanwhile, Pooja Entertainment is based in Mumbai and was founded in 1995 by Vashnu Bhagnani.

The company is known for films like Coolie No. 1 and Shaadi No. 1.

Its newest project, Bell Bottom, is a spy thriller that stars Akshay Kumar.

The film is based on true events and the story is set during the 1980s about some unforgettable heroes of the era

Although filming finished in September 2020, the film’s release has been delayed numerous times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It now has a release date of August 13, 2021.

Bell Bottom star Akshay Kumar is reportedly set to reunite with the Bollywood film company for another project.

A source said: “Akshay Kumar had a very smooth journey while shooting for Bell Bottom with his producers, the Bhagnani’s.

“Right after the shooting wrapped up, the producers narrated another story to Akshay, and the actor instantly agreed to come on board for the film.”
