The highly-anticipated Bangladeshi musical film O Jaan is gearing up for its release.

Jomsom, located in Nepal’s Mustang district, has emerged as the striking shooting location for the project.

The film stars popular performers Sunerah Binte Kamal and Farrukh Ahmed Rehan in their first on-screen pairing.

Shooting was completed in extreme weather conditions, with temperatures reportedly dropping between minus eight and minus ten degrees Celsius.

For the Bangladeshi crew, the demanding shoot marked a rare experience working at a high altitude under severe cold.

O Jaan follows the success of last year’s viral song ‘Moyna’, which received widespread appreciation after its release.

The earlier project stood out for its cinematic treatment, helping it gain strong traction on the Gaanchill Music YouTube channel.

Both projects share the same creative team, with vocals by Konal and Niloy and lyrics penned by Asif Iqbal.

Director Taneem Rahman Angshu once again leads the visual storytelling, promising an even broader cinematic scale this time.

Musically, O Jaan introduces a new collaboration between Dhaka-based Avral Sahir and Kolkata’s Lincoln.

The composition is arranged by Avral Sahir, blending contemporary melodies with an expansive, romantic soundscape.

Sunerah, speaking after returning from Nepal, described the location as “otherworldly”.

She said: “Every frame looks like a painting.

“Shooting in minus eight degrees was extremely tough, but working in a place like this becomes a lifetime memory.

“I truly believe viewers will fall in love with the location itself. It will feel like watching a big-budget Bollywood number.”

Lyricist and Gaanchill Music founder Asif Iqbal called O Jaan a “pure romantic” story reflecting modern emotions.

He added that freshness was intentionally woven into every creative layer of the project, from lyrics to visuals.

Rehan also shared his perspective, calling the experience “cinematic in the truest sense”.

“The visual storytelling complements the lyrics in a way rarely seen in music videos.

“Despite the harsh cold, the beauty of the location made everything worthwhile.”

According to the director, the musical film is a joint collaboration between Bangladesh, India and Nepal.

International cinematographers, choreographers and local experts were involved to authentically capture snow, mountains and romance.

Originally planned for a New Year release, O Jaan is now scheduled to premiere on January 30, 2026.

With its breathtaking backdrop and familiar creative team, O Jaan aims to elevate Bangladeshi musical storytelling internationally.
