“Every actor has delivered remarkable performances."
Fyakra, an intense new crime thriller starring Partho Sheikh, is set to premiere on Bongo soon, bringing a gritty and emotional story to screens.
The seven-episode series, starring Partho Sheikh, will premiere on May 8, 2025, exclusively on Bongo.
This marks a major milestone for the team behind it, as it is being released after multiple delays.
Filmed during a period of intense unrest in August 2024, the series faced major disruptions as most productions shut down.
Yet, director Asif Chowdhury pressed forward with determination.
Fyakra tells the story of Samad, a man driven by love and desperation.
With hopes of impressing his love interest Golapi, Samad finds himself in urgent need of money.
He turns to his closest friends, and together they embark on a risky robbery. But what begins as a bold act of affection quickly unravels.
A tragic mistake during the heist sparks a chain of consequences that sends the group spiralling into danger.
The situation becomes intense as both the police and a grieving husband close in.
Partho Sheikh takes the lead as Samad, delivering a performance that anchors the emotional weight of the series. Opposite him is Nidra Dey Neha as Golapi.
The ensemble cast includes Shamol Mawla, Mir Rabby, Nishat Priom, Abdullah Al Sentu, Kazi Abrar, Sarah Alam, AK Azad Setu, and Hasnat Ripon.
Together, they breathe life into a world that is as morally complex as it is emotionally intense.
Asif Chowdhury expressed pride in the final product.
He said: “The story is really strong — I believe the plot alone will hold the audience’s attention throughout.
“Every actor has delivered remarkable performances.
“Though the story kicks off with Samad and Golapi, each character is equally important, and everyone did justice to their roles.”
Recalling the difficult shoot, Chowdhury spoke of the real dangers faced during production.
He revealed: “We were filming at a time when highway robberies were common.
“During our night shoots, locals often mistook us for criminals.
“There were threats of shutting us down. It was frightening, but we pushed through.”
Scripted by Neyamoth Ullah Masum and Ahmamad Saad, Fyakra blends personal stakes with high-tension storytelling.
It promises a raw, gripping exploration of crime and its consequences.
The series is already generating buzz for its gritty tone and emotionally charged narrative.
With its intense performances and taut direction, Fyakra is set to stand out as one of the year’s most talked-about releases on Bongo.
