In March 2024, during an appearance on the dance reality show Dance Deewane, Suniel Shetty teased about becoming a grandparent.

“Yes, next season when I come I will be walking on the stage like a Nana.”
This comment raised speculation about Athiya and KL Rahul starting a family soon.
The couple tied the knot on January 23, 2023, at Athiya’s family mansion in Khandala, after dating for over four years.
Their romance reportedly began in early 2019, and they made their public debut at the premiere of Ahan Shetty’s film Tadap.
Athiya has been on a break from acting since her last film, Motichoor Chaknachoor, released in 2019.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul is currently in Australia participating in the second unofficial Test match between India A and Australia A.
