The song is a mournful plea from a love.

Fans of Asim Azhar have been eagerly waiting ever since Coke Studio Nu.WAV announced his lineup inclusion.

His much-anticipated new track has now finally been released for everyone to enjoy.

The music video for his song ‘Maheya’ has also been released.

The track also features rising talent AARYAN alongside Azhar in the video.

The song is a mournful plea from a lover who has lost everything to his beloved.

This release marks the platform’s third offering since the launch of Nu.WAV recently.

It follows ‘Dil’ by Afusic, Zoha Waseem and Ali Soomro, released in September 2026 on the platform.

It also follows ‘Rangeen’ by Hasan Raheem and Izzchugtai, which added its own flavour to the lineup.

The music video for ‘Maheya’ opens with a child sitting impatiently in a chair.

His face appears painted with colours resembling traditional mime makeup during the opening scene.

His father gently instructs him to stay still while someone prepares him for something ahead.

When a man asks whether the boy is ready, the father confirms that he indeed is.

The camera then shifts towards Azhar, who appears levitating in a cross-legged meditative pose.

The video soon transitions into black-and-white visuals for its next segment.

In this segment, Azhar is shown sitting in a makeup chair at a film set.

This scene subtly connects back to the child shown earlier in the video.

Azhar appears to play a playback singer for a film being shot in 1955.

In the story, a man tries to keep alive a figure trapped inside a cage.

This figure is shown to have a mechanical heart, giving the story a Frankenstein-like feel.

Whether the creature eventually sings or simply breaks free remains open for viewers to interpret.

As Azhar is shown signing autographs, AARYAN is seen entering the scene shortly after.

From there, a series of events eventually leads Azhar back to the chair he started from.

The child’s father is shown standing right behind him as the video reaches its conclusion.

Azhar also took to Instagram to share the song with his followers.

In his post, he reflected on his long journey with Coke Studio over the years.

His association with the platform began with his track ‘Tera Woh Pyar’ almost a decade ago.

Ever since Nu.WAV launched, it has generated considerable buzz within the music community.

Much of this buzz centres on how different the platform feels compared to earlier Coke Studio seasons.

However, many people fail to realise the actual purpose behind the Nu.WAV platform.

At its core, Nu.WAV is designed as a space for experimentation and creative freedom.

It is especially aimed at supporting young and upcoming artists in the music industry.

With its inaugural edition, the platform is set to deliver a packed and diverse roster.

This roster includes artists such as Maanu, Sabaat Batin, Shae Gill and Young Stunners.

Together, these artists represent a fresh wave of talent being introduced through Nu.WAV.
