"You should pay your condolences"
Ankita Lokhande received backlash from netizens after she posted a video on her Instagram handle wherein she can be seen dancing to Harrdy Sandhu’s ‘Bijlee Bijlee’.
Social media users slammed her for sharing it on the day of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s demise.
In the video, Ankita is seen in the car with her husband.
She is seen grooving to the beats of ‘Bijlee Bijlee’.
Several users pointed out in the comments section that she should be mourning Lata’s demise since she belongs to the same fraternity.
One user wrote: “Madam, you should pay your condolences, you can do all this tomorrow.”
Another added: “Have some shame.
“When the whole nation is mourning for Lata Di demise, you are posting videos of dancing and enjoying, that too when you are from the same fraternity.
“A shameless woman who got fame from the death of her ex-boyfriend.”

Ankita’s video has since amassed over 48,000 likes.
Shortly after receiving the backlash, Ankita paid tribute to the singer.
In an Instagram caption, she wrote: “May your soul rest in peace.”
The backlash comes days after Ankita was trolled by netizens for sharing ‘too many’ wedding photos.
In response to the comments, Ankita who tied the knot with Vicky Jain in December 2021 said:
“It was my wedding. If I don’t post, who will?”
Ankita added that there are a few users who are “jealous and negative and can never be happy for others.”
Talking about rumours of quitting acting after marriage, Ankita Lokhande said:
“Not at all. I can never sit at home. I need to be in my creative zone.
“Acting is something that I really love. I have done a lot of characters.
“Now, I really want to do roles that are similar to me as a person.”
Lata Mangeshkar’s demise came as a shock to many in the industry and across the country.
The legendary singer had been hospitalised for Covid-19.
She was also diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on ventilator support and declared critical on February 5, 2022.
On February 6, 2022, Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last.
She was cremated with full state honours.
Dr Pratit Samdani, who treated the playback singer, said:
“Lata Didi died at 8:12 am due to multi-organ failure after over 28 days of Covid-19 diagnosis.”
The likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shraddha Kapoor visited Lata Mangeshkar’s house to pay their respects.
Several celebrities including Gaurav Khanna, Nakuul Mehta, Kapil Sharma, Hina Khan and Mouni Roy also paid condolences to the singer on social media.
