Ameesha Patel recently made some shocking admissions about her fondness for the Hollywood icon, Tom Cruise.
The actress delved into her personal desires while on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast.
She said: “I have a crush on Tom Cruise.
“If you can do a podcast with him, then please invite me to that podcast.
“I’ve liked Tom Cruise since childhood.
I had his picture on my pencil box, in my files, and the only poster in my room was of Tom Cruise.
“He has always been my crush.
“I always joke that he’s the only man for whom I could put aside my principles. I could do anything for him.
“If you ask me whether I could have a one-night stand with him, yes, I could.”
Tom Cruise’s link to Bollywood goes back a long way.
During the pre-production stage of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Aditya Chopra wanted the film to be about an American and an non-resident Indian (NRI).
He first sought Tom for the male lead, but his father, Yash Chopra, was against the idea.
Thereafter, Shah Rukh Khan accepted the role.
Meanwhile, Ameesha Patel’s notable relationship within Bollywood was with the filmmaker Vikram Bhatt.
Vikram worked with Ameesha on Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage (2002).
In the podcast with Ranveer, Ameesha also spoke about how she refused film offers as they allegedly required her to sleep with people.
This practice is known as the casting couch.
Ameesha said: “I walk out of the situation and I lose that film.
“It happened a couple of times but I’m very happy that whatever films I’ve done in every language, they’ve all come purely because they’ve had nothing else attached except merit.
“I am proud to get work on merit. I did it my way.”
“That gives me more peace.”
Ameesha went on to discuss how she lost work because she refused to kiss or show nudity onscreen.
For example, the actress recounted how she used to wear a bikini during the song ‘Lazy Lamhe‘ in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (2008).
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ameesha Patel debuted opposite Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000).
She was last seen opposite Sunny Deol in Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 (2023).
In the film, she reprised her role as Sakeena ‘Sakku’ Ali Singh from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001).
