Tom Cruise revealed his deep admiration for India and Bollywood, calling the country “amazing” and expressing a strong desire to make a film there.

The Hollywood star, who stars in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, spoke to Avneet Kaur, where he greeted Indian fans and shared memories from his previous visits.

He said: “Hello India, I love you. Me aap sab se bohot pyar karta hoon…. I feel so much love for India.

“It is an amazing country, amazing people, amazing culture.”

Tom called his past experience in India unforgettable:

“I have to say the whole experience for me has been etched in my memory, every single moment from the moment that I landed.

“Going to the Taj Mahal, to spend the time in Mumbai with Anil [Kapoor] and all the people at the night of the premiere – I remember every moment quite vividly.”

The comments come as The Final Reckoning, the eighth film in the Mission: Impossible series, became the biggest Hollywood opener of 2025 in India.

The film was released in Indian theatres on May 17, nearly a week ahead of its US premiere on May 23.

According to film industry tracker Sacnilk, it has already collected Rs. 34.22 crore (£2.9 million) in just two days.

On Sunday alone, the film earned Rs. 17.69 crore (£1.5 million), up 7.21% from its opening day earnings of Rs. 16.5 crore (£1.4 million).

The movie has performed strongest in English, with a two-day total of Rs. 22.31 crore (£1.9 million).

It is reported that the film has surpassed all other Hollywood films released in India this year in terms of opening weekend performance.

Tom Cruise also spoke about his love for Bollywood films and his wish to work in one:

“When you look at Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning… I love travelling and I love working in different cultures, I would like to go back and I would actually like to make there.

“Well, I love Bollywood films. You know when you are seeing, you know the skill that it takes to do what you all do, that you naturally do.”

Expressing appreciation for Bollywood’s musical elements: “I love that you are in this drama comedy and it suddenly breaks out into a song. I love it.

“It’s something you know I grew up in and I love musicals, I love dramas, your culture in that way.”

“It’s something I would like to be in. It’s on my list of kind of films to make.”

He also mentioned his fondness for Indian food, although he did not name specific dishes.

Tom Cruise’s willingness to engage with Indian culture and cinema could pave the way for future collaborations between Hollywood and Bollywood.

Produced by Paramount Pictures, TC Productions, and Skydance Media, the film also stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, Angela Bassett, and Pom Klementieff.

According to IMDb, the story continues from the final scene of Dead Reckoning, where Ethan Hunt takes possession of a crucifix key. The plot promises high stakes and explosive action.
