Heera will host a wide selection of Bollywood movies, from the classics to modern-day.
Amazon Prime have announced they will launch a channel entirely dedicated to Bollywood movies and TV. They currently plan to release the channel for US customers.
The new channel, called Heera, will offer a huge array of Bollywood content. It will feature not just Bollywood movies, but also TV serials and kids’ programmes.
They will be offered in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Bengali.
Amazon Prime customers will have access to the Bollywood movies channel, but only if they live in the US. The channel will for now be restricted to the States.
Amazon Prime will offer the channel as part of a one-week trial. Then customers can pay for a monthly subscription of under $5 (£4.09) a month.
Heera will host a wide selection of Bollywood movies, from the classics to modern-day.
Prominent movies it will feature include Salman Khan’s Sultan and Shahrukh Khan’s Fan.
The channel will also show regional movies such as the popular Tamil film Kabali and Marathi film Mee Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy.
Amazon Prime continues to make great progression in ensuring they are the top online content streaming website. Only recently, in February 2017, it launched Anime Strike, the website’s first branded subscription channel.
Anime Strike offers customers 1,000 anime series and a wide range of classic and modern anime films. It appears the success of Anime Strike has led to Amazon Prime creating new branches of specific streaming content.
Heera so far received a massive welcome by US Bollywood fans on Twitter.

In general, finding Bollywood movies and TV shows can be difficult if you live outside of South Asia. Other subscription channels, such as Netflix, only offer a selected few of Bollywood movies and don’t provide the full catalogue.
Now with Heera, US fans can watch Bollywood movies to their heart’s content. DESIblitz hopes Amazon Prime will launch Heera in the UK soon!
